Off the top of my head I can't think of any of the Australian stores (maybe 15) I looked at over the last few weeks that had this feature.
Most listed a flat rate or were too vague so I stopped looking.

I DID look at some prices from the bodybuilding dot com and they had a dynamic postage calculator in their shopping cart which I was really impressed with!
It was smart enough to add small amounts for additional small items and larger amounts for larger and/or heavier items.
I'm sure a bit of investigative googling would return a few hundred solutions you could use for this (or a "how much?" email to your web designer if that's how it works for you).

I can understand your fears on losing money on postage.
To be honest if you charged $40 extra to those rural customers they would no longer be your customers and they would choose to go with someone else (who would lose $40 instead of you!) so I think you're pretty stuck there!
I think a shopping cart price list would help prevent you losing money, but the danger would be the postage cost would increase enough to negate your cheaper prices...so the customer would choose a flat rate store because overall it would be cheaper.

No problem on the feedback, just thought I would share the things which I noticed, incase other customers are noticing them too.

Thanks again for the feedback stralian. That auto shipping calculator is a great idea and we could look at something like this.

We did previously have a flat $9.90 rate actually. But boy did we lose a lot of money because of all the rural orders we generated! So yes unfortunately that made way for this more complex approach.

Will definitely look further into this though, thanks again for the great feedback.

w00t! Shipping calculator in the cart now

Stralian, I'll PM you with a gift voucher for that excellent idea just as a token of our appreciation.

Would love to hear any feedback for the shipping estimator.

Thanks Jay!
Just for that I'll give you another hot tip

A tick box to remember the postcode for that login session, or an option to put it in your account profile so it gets calculated automatically.
Not an issue at all, just another thing I've noticed at other (non-supplement) online stores that makes life a few keystrokes easier.

Most people would probably just fill up the cart and calculate once but you never know...there might be more postage conscious people out there like me!
Only thought I'd mention it because I imagine it would be incredibly easy for someone in the know to setup.

It's almost unheard of to find a place these days that listens to it's customers...let alone implements solutions in just a few days as a result!
Thanks again!

Brock

Hey Brock, that's a great idea and I am going to look into that. It did bug me a little when I was testing it out and considering you identified the same issue, it needs improvement. Will see what we can do.

Thanks again for the feedback. Always appreciated.

Quick update - it's done. So now you just have to input your post code once. But you can change it if you wish to get an estimate to another Aussie post code.

I have been a little quiet on the forum lately due to very heavy work on the supplement store. We've introduced a range of new features onto the site lately such as:

1. You can now backorder products if we do not have them in stock.
2. BULK DISCOUNTS! All our big sellers have bulk discounts which will automatically be applied!
3. Re-ordering feature from your account
4. Significantly expanded product range and stock on hand
5. Referral rewards (1.2% of the referred persons purchases)
6. Improved transparency, such as a shipping calculator in your cart, clear pricing, estimated delivery times etc.

So I would love to receive anyone's feedback on what we've done and what is currently available.

If you are a previous/current customer, I am very interested in your feedback of the store and how you feel we could improve our game.

If you have never shopped with us before, I am particularly interested in what would convince you to order with Amino Z. For example - better value, lower prices, greater range, better rewards, different free gifts, different design, better website, bulk size protein powders etc.

Any and all feedback is greatly appreciated so we can deliver the best value and service to all AUSBB members!

Just ordered a box of Aussie Bodies HPLC Protein Bars off the website. Cheapest I found. $5 each at Coles, about the same from vitaminking.com.au once you add freight. These work out to be $4.77 per bar. Not much difference but still cheaper. Very easy site to navigate. Says my order is back ordered so will hopefully receive them in a timely fashion. I emailed them for an ETA

Thanks Gunner!

We'll be ordering this in from Aussie Bodies in the next day or so and will update you as soon as it's sent out. We say up to 2 weeks wait from our supplier, as some suppliers are slow. Aussie Bodies isn't too bad though
