Default warm-down exercises

I already so warm up stretching excercises before working out, just wondering should i do some warm down excercises also?
Would it be of any helpl to do some general stretching exercises or something at the end of the workout? What type of exercises would be recommended for this?
When doing cardio I've heard that it's important to warm-down at the end. Can the same thing be said for weights?

warm down otherwise known as cooling down

-5 to 10 minutes jogging/walking - decrease body temperature and remove waste products from the working muscles
-5 to 10 minutes stretching
