Another advantage, especially in winter, for the treadmill is weather conditions (sorta touched on it but needs reiteration). Not very nice to run in showers or extreme winds.
But yeah, road running is harder because of the need to "pull" yourself along BUT treadmill is hard because there's no letting up in pace. |

I guess we have to film ourselves running, put it on YouTube and get Bree to recommend the right shoe for us.
Kyle: "Having seen my running, what sort of shoe should I have?" Bree: "Crutches."

I got my Brooks Adrenalin GTS shoe recommended from here - Running Science Rozelle
Running Science - Footwear Fitted by Professionals They analyse your gait on a treadmill before recommending a shoe. Don't go to Athlete's Foot though, go to a proper shoe store. There's a list here - Australian Running Links - CoolRunning Australia

The TAF guys would lynch you for saying that Katie! Actually, you will find that a lot of their staff are physio, pod and biomechanic students, so they know their stuff. The fitprint is more about marketing than anything, but it sells shoes!
Running Science are really good, have heard good things about Footpoint in Mosman. Sydney Running Centre in Edgecliff is another. Each store has it's own bias, a lot of them are semi-pro runners so have sponsors that they will sway towards. |

Well, y-e-e-e-s, but it's got a whole lot of other specialist shoe shops on the list...
Hmm that's something I didn't know about The Athlete's Foot! Some ppl on coolrunning just said the footprint thing was a gimmick because they never actually analyse your gait.
