I dropped my work phone in the gutter while I was getting out of the car the other night. It is so filled with water you can see it swooshing around the screen.
Problem is, turns out I saved all of my numbers- important work ones- to the phone rather than the sim (I know I'm an idiot). Any ideas to dry it out enough to get the info off the phone? |

let the fone dry out for a month and then see if it turns on?? the other thing is, which fone network are you with? some back up your phone numbers over the network for you wirelessly, so you can retrieve them when needed. may have to give your telco a ring.
but for now, remove the battery and do not attempt to power it up as you will burn it out. open the case let it to dry in a well ventilated warm area, and give it a week or so, keep moving it and shaking out excess water. |

I got thrown into a pool with my mob in my pocket awhile ago.
All you got to do is take it apart as far as you can let it dry out completely (dont use a microwave lol ). Once it completely dry use a hair dryer on the lowest most gentle setting and carefully give it a blow out, you MUST use as little heat as possible. Then put it back together and it should be fine, mine still going strong ![]() Hope its ok Mike. edit: if you turned on your phone when wet its probably kaput, sorry.

this happened to me too. the most important thing I can stress is DO NOT TURN IT ON before it's fully dry. take all the components apart (eg. battery, simcard) and put on a sunny windowsill. let it air out for a week and then put it back together (fingers crossed for you!)

Didn't even try to turn it on. Figured that it turning itself off once it hit the water was a bad sign!
Mmmm, so I out it in the fridge to dry it out (someone told me to do this when I did something similar to my camera- I'm a repeat offender), but given all your advice, think I will need to get it out. Does seem to be drying up the pool of water in the screen though. Good idea on the telco. Will talk to the IT guys at work as they deal with the phone company. So what I need to ask is does Telstra back up the information on the phone wirelessly? |
