I'm an electrician. I do industrial stuff, lots of fault finding and motors. I absolutely hate the hours i'm working atm. 3 months to go on my contract and I'm out!
2010: Thinking of stepping back in hours and going to tafe to do the advanced diploma or an electrical engineering degree, so I can get the big money. Thoughts? Should I study?

Im a partner in a small personal lending company. Only me and the other partner, and we both do about 25 hours a week. Cant complain too much. I have an accounting degree, but after 10 months as an accountant i was ready to neck myself.
Most importantly im father to a wonderful five year old boy. Thats the best job a man could have. |

Personally, I would forget about formal education and work on your business instead. You do mention you are after the big money, you certainly don't need an advanced diploma or degree to achieve a high income. You can always study whatever you need in your own personal time, unstructured and faster than from an educational institution. My opinion would be to work on your marketing skills and business skills, market your services directly to the end customer, leverage through employees. Good luck. |
