Ah you're a funny girl Nicole. I like your cat, it looks like my favourite British blue shorthair here:

It's healthy to dream Nicole. First we dream, then we realise...

Or put another way; if I can dream...I can. So go ahead Tigress, dream and visualise all you like, then feel mighty elated when you walk into that gym; the place where dreams come alive...just the way you've described yourself earlier remember: A.L.I.V.E.

I'll pay that, PowerBuilder .

Fadi, I love the British shorthairs as well -- such solid, strong creatures with a look of mischief about them. That's a lovely dreaming photo, too. My usual sleeping dreams are less peaceful (often being pursued or dropped from heights), but I can visualise more relaxing themes during my waking hours .

One thing I like about the new gym is that almost everything is old and I can feel the history from the faded knurls on the bars, the chipped paint on the cage and the broken mirrors from where tired lifters have mis-placed bars in the corners. I sometimes ponder how many thousand tonnes have been lifted within the space. It all feels a bit spiritual (until the tinny blare of Channel V chirps on the damn TV screen!)

both of my gyms are older. One more than the other, my weightlifting gym is a local college gym...so it's been around for a long time. I often look at the platforms where i do my lifting & can see the faded paint. The plates that are clearly past their used by dates (in terms of being cracked &/or completely wrecked. When i look at the machines in my younger gym, it reminds me of when i first came & how all of it was new & exciting & yet scary.

1000's of tones has been moved in both gyms

^ It was funny you mentioned the plates being cracked and completely wrecked. I was squatting last night and had to fight for every rep, and it was me who was cracked and wrecked rather than the undefeated discs of iron. Had to put lots of $2 coins in my swear word money pig when I got home .

So that comes to 350 episodes of swearing; that's a lot of swearing Nicole, (or not enough, depending on how you look at it) !

No free rides in life, PB -- you have to earn it!

I intentionally left out the timeframes so I didn't look too much like a potty mouth . Piggy wig weighs about a kilogram again and I don't know how much money that is. I'll raid it and buy myself something nice when I reach my first goal, which may be tomorrow.

I'm feeling remarkably human for a Friday so hoping this ridiculous hot weather abates for this afternoon's training. I like Friday afternoons in the gym -- it seems I'm the only idiot in there.
