Enjoy the rest....How far North are you going?

Its probably the nicest time of the year, still cool enought to be comfortable, but warm enough to play at the beach, or run around naked on a houseboat all day lol.

Hi Guys,

Back again, was an awesome break. 9 dives over 3 days, 2:5:2. Started at Cairns then headed North along the Ribon Reef all the way up to Lizard Island where we flew out of. Awesome! Also awesome to come back and read that Max took gold at the worlds!! Go champion!!!

What's not so awesome is my shoulder. Still giving me grief three weeks on from the injury. I benched a massive 35kg for two sets of 5 on Saturday and that had me in a cold sweat. Its absolutely stuffed, still can't lift my boy up but surprisingly can now do barbell bicep curls and bentover rows at 80% of full working weight. Its obviously isolated. Here's what Saturday looked like...

Sat 11/9/2010:

Bench Press:

20x20
20x20
20x20
25x15
30x10
35x5
35x5

Scary business. Felt weak as...

Tricep rope extensions:

12.5x10
15x10
17.5x8
15x8
12.5x8
10x8

Felt strong, no problems here.

Bicep easybar curls:

30x8x3

Again, no probs, but didn't push it to 40kg as these still engage the delt a bit.

Bentover easybar rows:

45kgx8x3

Just feeling it out, but again pretty comfortable.

Feeling a tad depressed afterwards, but coming on here and reading about Max's success has reinvigorated me. I'm off to the gym again this afternoon, but it looks like it will be another Squat PPP. That's the only exercise I can really do anymore with real 100% effort.

Looks like the October Bench comp is out of the question. Don't think 35kg will set the world on fire...

Cheers,
Mike

Yeah, good call. That's where I'd got to mentally as well. I figured I'd give it the dive trip to recover and if it was still busted I'd go see a physio. Its still busted...

Just booked a Physio session with All Sports at Toowong for 5:30pm today. I'll post up their diagnosis and prognosis tomorrow...

Cheers,
Mike

GP would have just referred me to the physio anyway. They do all that stuff too. I was in a minor car accident last year and went to the GP with a sore kneck, they just hand balled it to the physio across the road. So this time I bypassed the GP referral and went straight to the physio...

Cheers,
Mike

Diving in the great barrier reef, life doesn't get any better.

My wife and I did a bit of snorkelling in the whitsundays on our honeymoon, loved every minute.
