In Sri Lanka, India and Pakistan, there's a famous dish called Kulfi. It's basically the subcontinental version of ice cream. It tastes umm.. DAMMMN NICE.. except it's too high on bad calories.
![]() that's what it looks like.. I just made my own recently which is very nice. I call it the anabolic Kulfi. This version is very simple to make. 1 cup ground oats, 2 scoops (35g scoop) of chocolate or Cookies & Cream Protein powder (aim for the better tasting ones such as from BSN ). 10 almonds sliced. 8 - 10 cubes of ice or crushed ice, Blend the oats, protein powder and ice together to get a thick liquid concoction. Add the almonds. put it in a conical flask and freeze it. 2 hours later you have the anabolic kulfi. It's a very nice dessert. Packed with good kcals.

Fantastic idea!
I once had kulfi *and* gulab jamun in the same bowl at an Indian buffet, and was in a deep and sorry sugar crash for hours. Haven't touched anything remotely looking like an Indian dessert since, but I'm bookmarking this alternative. |
