First CrossFit Study: It Works Wonders, If You Can Survive

You've got to be able to laugh (unless its a fatality then thats not cool). I love seeing/hearing people bounce off a plyo box on the way up, the old shin catcher.

First CrossFit Study: It Works Wonders, If You Can Survive

So to confirm, are these guys saying crossfit style high oly rep workouts are good for fitness, good for crossfit fitness but not other fitness, or a waste of time? It would be interesting to get unbiased thoughts from CF elite on the nature of CF workouts in general.

dude, come on. I'll ask next time I'm at the local CF what the strategy there is, doubt even they'll know.

First CrossFit Study: It Works Wonders, If You Can Survive

Sure for some of the peeps, but I'm not part of the cult yet. I started CF in March, have been on and off, then came here looking for strength. I dont think CF claims to make olympic lifters either, but they are the basis of the strength workouts. Nobody is saying sloppy form is ok, or its good...

    Pro-Power equipment.

Looks sick mate. I have a rough idea of how he gets up it, is it the same to get down? Just thinking out loud here, some oversized bar end caps might be worth while if things go into freefall, could get get messy.

    Tough MUdder.

It was funny, the problem i saw with the crossfit teams were the size of them. With so many together it's inevitable at least one or two gets an injury, and they wouldn't leave each other behind. My local cf team took 2hrs longer than me, as they walked from the 10k mark with some busted ankles...

    Tough MUdder.

Yeah mate, good job! I was there yesterday as well, got an epic tan from it. guts are still a bit sore, not sure if its the 18k jog or dehydration, maybe both. All kinds of people on the course, a few hotties here and there. I wish it had rained though, dusty as fck. Course was quite open...

Women: Breaking The Size Barrier by Cheryl Zovich

My girlfriend is facing this same issue, has started crossfit which includes lifting, and is concerned about the repercussions. Any tips Kaz? Agreed. I dont know if it's a similar campaign that has begun against men's sense of self as well, with all the skinny nerd clothing and the cosmetic...

    Chinup Challenge

Geez that's surprising, I guess ideally they would converge. My problem is the opposite, I can chin more weight than I can pullup. I'll give it a go when I next get a chance, looking at a pretty big drop off after 3rd set, so be warned. Just had another look at the plan of attack, how do the...

    Chinup Challenge

Would be interested to see how this would go as a pullup challenge (overhand grip). I'm thinking ~2/3 the weights used per set or 2/3 the results at same weight used for chins.

    Tough MUdder.

Hey mate, based on my zero 1st hand knowledge of TM, but reflecting on spartan and true grit, I think if you can jog/run at least 50% of the race distance on concrete/footpaths etc you will be ok. You won't be competitive but you won't suffer either, and if you have above average strength and...

    Tough MUdder.

Got back from True Grit an hour ago, run out of tamborine forest. Was more cardio challenges and hills than spartan, but shorter distance at 10km. I suspect tough mudder will be similar but with a shed load more mud. Again I combo'd jogging with walking, couldn't quite jog it straight through...
