    Check your volume!

Biggest issue is the actual work done by the muscle is not what is expressed but what happens at the fiber levels :D With my injured shoulder I am at about 10000kg for a pressing day: in 60-70 minutes.

    Check your volume!

Yes it would BUT that still doesn't take into account the fatigue factor of the muscles. It would also not take into account the time factor in moving the weight which would increase the amount of work performed. Biological systems always make physics annoying.

How can newbs prevent shoulder injuries?

All three, helps to have an interest in it. When benching keeping the shoulders back can really help remove any chance of shoulder damage. It stabilizes the joint where as lying flat puts the shoulder in a terrible position with the scapula stuck half way and not enough joint articulation. When...

Knee cap tracking, cracking, & squats / deadlifts

Rolling your ITB is practically useless due to it being fascia that will not respond to stretching/massage. You want to work on the surrounding tissue that connects to the ITB. This will include you Vastus Lateralis (side quad) that can tighten up significantly with overuse and affect patellar...

    lower back hip mobility

tBt5F2mMUtU This shows you a test and ankle mobility drill. Just try and recreate the movement the presenter is doing. Knee bends forward over toes, stays straight over toes (not inwards), heel stays on ground. I get people to do it with the front of their foot elevated a little and pulling...

    lower back hip mobility

You're question is a little confusing but I am sure you just mean to increase your hip mobility to help your lower back. First thing would be to check your ankles. Poor ankle mobility can be really damaging to getting into a deep squat typically seen in the gym. If you hip break like a comp...

    Building a stronger heart?

Yes, you should get a stress test and not be getting advice off of the internet. If you can cruise along at 170-175 for 2 hours your heart itself may not be the issue. I would get a stress test to rule out any cardiac complications at submax and maximal exertion then once that issue is/is not...

    Building a stronger heart?

You do not know what is actually wrong then? Seeing as though you wrote incident/accident I would not know if it was a car accident, heart attack etc etc etc. There could be any issues unless proper background info is given. These could be nerve issues, physical damage or just general weakness...

    Fat Pride Article

Emotional issues are exacerbated by being overweight in many people (not all). The reason for their emotional eating is the same as some peoples use of drugs. They have been hurt, abused, put down etc and can not deal with it either due to the severity or a lack of coping mechanisms inherent to...

    Building a stronger heart?

What you are talking about, in regards to heart strength, is referred to as "Stroke Volume". This means the heart can pump out more blood per beat due to increased strength of contraction. It is the method that really increases your cardiovascular ability as heart rate is pretty much set. Those...

    Fat Pride Article

Whilst it does help it is not the whole picture. Serotonin and endorphin production etc is not enough to reduce habit and lifestyle issues that have been ingrained into the person. For some that have emotional issues there can be a need for behaviour modification training which will enable a...
