2 form checks and meet prep. Would love to seen your guys first comp by just making it up yourself by trial & error. My coach has proven he is an elite competitor and coach. This is actually the least expensive hobby/sport I have ever done. Competition is what separates the fake from the...

So far I have spent $9.99 on app and $140 for two form checks with a well accomplished strength coach, small price really and I have benefitted greatly. Each to his own.

My point is simply I don't think its good advice for newbs to just figure it out as you suggested. The consequences might mess you up for a long time which is not the goal of fitness training.

TBH not many people went to gyms in aus back in the day unless you were a paid athlete. Regular gyms were pretty low standard and so was most of the training. Things only took off since late 90's IMO.

Working out correct form by yourself can mostly result in injuries you may never recover from. I am happy to pay a coach for form.

    YT fitness channels.

Anyone watch them, so dramatic. Seem to be more every week. I watched Rich Pianna for a while just for the drama, RIP Rich. They all seem pretty fake. Any recommendations?

Could be but they seem to attract a lot of women. Prolly wrong approach but if someone is not stronger than me then I don't take their advice, most of the PT's I met are skinny.

$9.99 is a small investment to me to get all my workouts logged, progress charts, daily reps, sets, warm ups, accessories, proven personalised program......etc. Better than a pen and paper log book IMO. I know people that pay much more than that for personal trainers to bullshit to them to the...

I do 5x5, my first program, and wondered about the 1x5 DL. I figure the program has been going for decades with thousands of trainees so who am I to question or modify it. Also its a 12 week program, your final weights will be less than your starting 1rm which seems odd but your 5rm will have...

For a novice its great, simple program, short workouts, most important whole body exercises...program is proven for decades. Of course intermediate or advanced athletes move on to something else, it even says that you have to move on to other schemes right there in the program. Some of the...

Thanks to whoever said I was still 50. Been back this week with the program. I really believe it was the heat wave + a few really long days at work that knocked me on my arse. Had no probs this week and been adding the program accessories straight after the main work out. I am new to lifting...
