Need some opinions - Beginner/Intermediate lifting programs

yep i've decided on 5/3/1 with boring but big assistance, i decided on this for a few reasons. Firstly, I'm always short of time these days considering i'm doing 2 different lots of training on mon, wed and fri for my thai boxing/mma/wrestling etc. 5/3/1 seems the least time consuming...

Need some opinions - Beginner/Intermediate lifting programs

Westside looks interesting, i'm basically just training up for the next PTC comp in august now, would love to hit 150 squat, 200 dead and 100 bench by then. Honestly though, i'd struggle to hit 85 bench at the moment so it doesn't seem like a very good goal, but west side has much more upper...

Need some opinions - Beginner/Intermediate lifting programs

Okay so i was thinking about maybe doing a 3x5 program but use the 5/3/1 style boring but big assistance program? A layout might look something like the following: Monday - Squat 3x5 Bench 3x5 Assistance: Squat 3x10 or 5x10 @50% Bench 3x10 or 5x10 @50% Chins/Pullups Wednesday - Squat 3x5...

Need some opinions - Beginner/Intermediate lifting programs

I eat around 4k cals a day, sleep around 8 hours seeing that i'm still slowly increasing in body weight i don't think upping the cals anymore would do much. Its not that my upper body can't handle heavier weight, its just that doing the prescribed reps/weight in texas method is just not enough...

Need some opinions - Beginner/Intermediate lifting programs

Would it be a good idea to run a similar basic program (5x5, 3x5 progressions or whatever) but substitute upper body with a particular bench or press cycle for that lift only? if theres even such thing?

Need some opinions - Beginner/Intermediate lifting programs

I don't doubt that i could still use 5x5 as an advantage although will it be effective on my upper body lifts is what i'm most concerned with, and what version of 5x5 would be most beneficial for the upper body? Do you have a link, name or sample of a program which used such set/rep ranges for...

    fasted comps

I entered my last comp after about 4 months of fasting although I didn't actually compete fasted although I didn't do very well but this was more because I lost so much weight during that time, there was no real gain in strength over the time, just holding on to whatever I had, so I ended up a...
