    The Walking Dead

***** further spoilers ***** Personally, I was expecting either Tyrese or Carol to do it straight away. I wouldn't have put Judith in danger any longer (having seen her earlier antics). Obviously the way they did it created much better TV (unless one of them had done what I thought and then...

Shoulder Overhead Press. To sit or stand?

"All things being equal and if you are pushing 120kg (seated) over-head, do you think there would be less, more or the same amount of force on the hip/lwr back?" I must have misinterpreted this as meaning there would be greater force while seated. Anyway as with everything, risk v reward is...

Shoulder Overhead Press. To sit or stand?

This is the point that I was getting at @Silverback - while there may be greater force on the spine while seated, the risk of too much backward lean is more concerning to me.

    Books

My wife and I went and topped up our current collection of series and added a few new series at the recent bookfest in Brisbane. Fiona McIntosh was recommended by a number of women as we were browsing the aisles. She hasn't started reading them yet though so I can't confirm those recommendations!

Shoulder Overhead Press. To sit or stand?

Surely the dissipation of the load through the legs does not counterbalance the risk, that should only arise in a standing press, of leaning too far backwards and causing havoc to the hip/lwr back.

    Post your shake Recipes

This is a shake that I make for my wife: - 1 scoop BN vanilla - 5ml coconut oil (~1tsp) - 30-40g quick oats (~1/3 cup) - small handful of mixed frozen berries (~5-10) - 50g chobani 0% (1 dollop) - water (as required - I just top it up so that it hits the 500ml mark in the blender)

Shoulder Overhead Press. To sit or stand?

If I wanted to make my whole body work for it, which I don't, I would do standing barbell.. but I want to work my shoulders and I find seated DB the best across the board.

    Gironda Sissy squat

Nope - my knees have no love for the sissy squats :<

How do you grip the bar when deadlifting

I generally try and use overhand as much as possible.. but usually it's mix grip (alternating each set).

Preference for Chest Workout-Barbell or Dumbbell

Never barbell, as soon as I incorporate barbell flat bench my shoulders start playing up, instead: Incline - DB Flat - Hammer Strength Press (I just find it a safer option and much easier on my shoulders than barbell) Otherwise, dips.

Explained: Why tabata training is here to stay

    "Tabata is an equation: 20/10 x 8 = 4." 10/20 x 8 = 4

    Beginners workout - Whats next?

100% agree - upper/lower 4 days a week is great (particularly Lyle's Generic Bulking Routine). If you have a 5th day you can always just do calves/abs (as I regularly drop them when I don't have time) and HIIT for your 5th day. If you want to mix it up from time to time and increase volume...

What is the most common mistake you see people do while working out?

While legs don't magically grow usually, they do if you've never trained them :p

Slow and steady weight loss? I think not

    I agree - but I can't disagree with results.

Slow and steady weight loss? I think not

While you may be right jz, I'm not willing to just throw out what 0ni says purely for those reasons. My wife is about to run the HCG diet (google it) for the second time as she won't be able to gym for a month (TBA). It's a modification of the crash diet in that you have a couple of days...

The top 3 most effective chest exercises

Unfortunately exercise selection has to take into account longevity. BB bench press and pec deck will cut short my training life significantly.

    Deadlift issues

@0ni - that slight rounding of the very lower back at the bottom of the movement always concerns me (in the latest video). Is that not an issue?

    Deadlift issues

There seems to be confusion going on between conventional deads and romanian deads. Misslifty seemed to be trying to do romanian deads - in which case I don't understand why you would be wanting to start lower. As an aside, this is the powerlifting/strength training section. I would assume...
