how many whole eggs do you eat a day?

    7 whites a day. /edit for Syd's benefit - from the carton.

Which of your muscle groups grows best and worst?

I knew this would draw your attention :P Just outside shoulder width, i.e. replicating the same grip I use for bench. /edit - Oh and with a lean back, not quite gironda style. Perhaps this helps the shoulders somewhat, as it feels better than when you are trying to stay completely upright. I...

Which of your muscle groups grows best and worst?

Are you doing wide pullups? It ain't redbull that gives you wings.

Which of your muscle groups grows best and worst?

I would say that back width/triceps/shoulders/quads grow much better than back thickness, biceps and calves.

Which exercise has given you most muscle growth?

    Deadlifts for waist thickness ;)

    How important is the deadlift?

You've mentioned on a number of occasions that you can't change the shape of the muscle (or bone structure). That's on a muscle by muscle basis. Surely if there are 4 muscles in a particular area of the body and I work 2 of them much more intensely than the others, the area of the body will...

    Back operation tomorrow

Very happy to hear that taurus mate - I didn't realise just how far type 1 diabetes impacts upon your life.

    How important is the deadlift?

Goosey - would you go so far as to say that you only really need deadlifts and weighted pullups/chins to build a thick and wide back?

Which exercise has given you most muscle growth?

Chest - dips. Back - pullups. Other muscle groups, it's harder to say because I did a lot of exercises from day dot, whereas with dips and pullups, these were only introduced several years into training so I could see an observable effect on the shape of my chest and the width of my back.

    Training Gloves, Wraps and Straps

Gloves. I want to use straps for some exercises though because my grip just isn't good enough.

    How important is the deadlift?

Oh okay - at the moment it's more fitness/getting into great shape, but the intention is to give it a crack in the future (BB).

    How important is the deadlift?

His focus was aesthetics, which for me, is quite the opposite of exceedingly odd. E.g. not growing the glutes and instead actually hitting the quads ; growing the lower part of the chest by working the chest properly on dips and bench. That being said, I can't incorporate many of his...

Do you train to failure on every set, or just the last set of an exercise?

Cheers. I take it that by failure you mean - unassisted failure. If so, what are your thoughts on the following: - do you think it's worthwhile going beyond unassisted failure? - if so, on each set to failure, or say once per muscle group per week?

    Are you a Tipper?

I don't agree with automatic gratuities of 10-20%. The company should pay the correct wage. However, above average performance is worthy of a tip if the tipper wants to do so.

Do you train to failure on every set, or just the last set of an exercise?

Is it failure or the time under tension or is it time under tension AND to failure that will make you grow?

Do you train to failure on every set, or just the last set of an exercise?

Same - these days I just try ramp up with say 2 warm up sets of roughly 25-50% and 50% of my target weight, then 1-2 sets working sets.

    How important is the deadlift?

This is for the benefit of programming for my wife - to avoid thickening up the waist/lower back, would you suggest that I keep her going with RDLs, rather than conventional deads? She already has a good lower back from dancing (which I can only guess is from being dipped all the time, or south...

    Do you keep a log?

I now just keep tracking of my best set on each exercise. If I don't beat it the next time I work that exercise, I don't update it. I prefer spending more time working in the gym, rather than writing down or typing into my iPhone.

    Lat pulldown on cable crossover

I saw some old veterans on maxs muscle tv doing it at the end of their workout and gave it a try. I think I would only do it if I was in a rush and all 4 lat pulldowns were in use..
