Please critique my 3 day split .

I've never liked having to hit my rep count on all 3 sets because it ends up becoming a problem with endurance. I will often work off the first set or 2 (of 3) or the final set, depending on whether it's more of a pure strength type exercise (deadlifts) or something where I really like to feel...

Please critique my 3 day split .

I agree with this, as the exercise list looks exhausting just reading it! My further suggestions to consider would be: - incline bench first - drop front raises on push day, and do lateral raises on that day instead - replace lateral raises on pull day with rear raises on that day (to help with...

    You know you're bulking when....

Ha - the second button on a few of my work shirts comes dangerously close to popping if I stand with good posture, I noticed the other day that I can't wash the middle of my back with my hands like I could 6 months ago and a couple of guys at work are trying to put me off by saying that I'm...

What is your favourite/most productive way to train?

I agree - I generally will do something for a while. My wife has started training with me though so I have to be more flexible to work in with her, e.g. I've got her on an upper/lower/upper/lower, but she could only make it for lower/upper/lower so i then did 2 days of push/pull seeing I had 2...

What is your favourite/most productive way to train?

I like to mix between body parts splits and upper/lower. Some weeks I will do a mix of both. e.g. upper + lower + back/bi + chest/tri + legs.

This will yield gains.. I guarantee!!

I wouldn't be surprised if this worked incredibly well as a placebo.

let us build you a profile

These need pics or I assume people won't bother reading about the person. In saying that, it was a little strange with the mugshots of PowerBuilder rather than gym-related pics :p

    Brisbane's first outdoor gym

Free outdoor gym for Tingalpa For those on the south (east) side in Brisbane, looks like we'll have another option with an outdoor gym. "Cr Murphy said the Minnippi parklands gym will be protected by a shade cover with the following pieces of gym equipment proposed: Cross Trainer Treadmill...

    Necrobumping

Thanks for the heads up - like pistachio said ages ago, I was surprised to read that you are encouraging this! I suppose it's better to necrobump than have 2 threads.

    Submit your Articles

Seeing there haven't been many takers, why not instead try an article of the week type thread. Options are either you (or someone else) finds one and posts about it OR people can submit articles to you or someone else and then the article of the week is included. At least for the strength...

Can't Squat? Don't want to Squat?

For me, barbell squatting is very much a full lower body exercise, which seems to really hit the glutes/hams. If I want to hit the quads properly I need single-leg leg press and leg extensions.

V-Taper Upper Body Workout: Chest, Shoulders & Lats

I started typing a response to you @Shrek along the lines of how on earth can 'work out' be mistaken for a weekly program or regime.. but then I realised we are on the internet after all.

what can we do ourselves to help make AUSBB better

More of what you've been doing lately Admin. You've been stirring a lot of activity, it's great. I know that this is a bit more of what a whole website does, rather than a forum... but every so often running a thread about one of the forum members with a progress photo from day dot to now...

Deadlifts, at the beginning or end of your routine ?

The argument being less load so it's safer versus you already being fatigued so it's more dangerous. Some people side with the former. I might do some rack pulls in the middle or at the end of the workout on an 8-12 rep per set back day (as I was like to train lower back last for obvious...

Where did you start? Where are you now? What were your biggest hurdles? How did you o

Nice Camo - so good to hear that things are on track for you. For me, I was 62kg at the end of high school in 2004. I probably was about 64-66kg a year later when I started weights. 7 years later, I am now 87.5kg, despite a bout of pancreatitis at the end of 2009 (lost a bit of weight) and...
