    Are you ready to lift?

Nab I got that and I do see your point. I agree withboth sides points though. You know I love being able to pull out a big lift anywhere anytime. But I also only want to do it for a good reason. If there's no point why bother?

    Are you ready to lift?

Peaking your training for a comp doesn't stop you from being strong all year round. Your own example of james pulling 202.5 at the DL comp then deciding last minute to do the novice comp and pulling 200 is a good case of what i mean. James had already hit a PB very recently. In the last...

    Are you ready to lift?

I think Gawain makes a good point in that for a competitive powerlifter it not important if they can hit 90% on any given sunday. As long as they can hit a max on one day then thats the important thing. You've said yourself gym lifts dont mean shit, its what you do in a comp that counts...

Novice 3 lift comp at PTC

I was wondering about knee wraps, makes no difference really still bloody strong. I was there saturday training, but I'm still not 100%. Couldn't be stuffed just going down to watch, had a chrissy BBQ in the afternoon anyway.

    Prepping for my first comp!

FFS it's a piss weak stimulant on comp day. It's hardly going to have you wasting away to skelator. Get protein every 3 hours on the 362 or so days you don't compete and you'll be fine. Some if you guys on here worry about the little shit way to much.

How does alchohol affect your training?

Alcohol should be treated just like any other drug. You should understand the compound you are consuming and how it you will be affected by it. As with any drugs problems only occur from misuse, carelessness, a lack of knowledge or incorrect dosage. As Markos mentioned people are of the...

    Belts and Lifting Big

I've started lifting heavy with a belt and my lower back thanks me for it. My previous injuries were caused by terrible form though not a lack of a belt. I think though all things (form) being equal a belt would certainly do no harm. And from my personal experience my midsections feels much...

Hi [you] and welcome to ausbb

With that bodyweight/bodyfat and lifts i think we need pics. Also how did you test your bodyfat? Something seems off because 9% @ 109 would be 99.19kg of lean muscle where as 20% @ 121 would only be 96.8kg lean muscle. Maybe I'm missing something.
