    Sourcing replacement safety bars

the straps are there to protect your bar from damage as well as provide safety when dropping a squat. There is a bit of give in them I can set the straps a few inches below the bottom of my squat and have no issues With Bench safety bars work better as allows you to relax chest and crawl out...

Bumper plates received - should I return? Pics of damage.

might be the couriers fault, did you keep the packaging to see if the cardboard was dragged across the ground somewhere? I've had two deliverys where the goods arrived damaged, One I got repaired and claimed the cost from the supplier, the other was an ebay purchase and I signed for the...

    Flat bench, 30cm-32cm wide, options?

The Force USA one is 1cm more than an ER Rack ( I measured both ) which at 45cm is the maximum height, I'm pretty sure the Eleiko is also 45cm The Gymdirect one is 3cm lower than an ER Rack, and at 42cm the minimum height in IPF rulebook so one is 1cm higher, the other is a 3cm lower than a...

    Flat bench, 30cm-32cm wide, options?

I've got this one. Very solid Force USA Commercial Flat Bench The wheels are not needed, if your strong enough to need a bench like this, the weight of the bench is not heavy enough to need wheels to move.

    Cheap home gym?

2 problems I see with that rack, 1 is that the safetys are not long enough to act as real safety rails for bench, 2 is the stand design is not great as easy to knock over or trip on the base. I'd suggest this as a squat rack, portable and reasonably solid. Orbit Squat Rack - TBP611 I found a...

    Cheap home gym?

those squats stands look fine for home use for a beginner, the only problem I can see is that the safetys don't look as if they go low enough to bench out of, and possibly the bar holders don't go low enough for benching. Not everyone has room for a full Rack.

    Buying home equipment

I have the ForceUSA commercial flat bench and it's very solid, and suitable for competitive powerlifters as wide, not soft, and good height ( 1cm above competition bench height ).

Very wide, flat bench - recommendations?

I have the Force USA Commercial flat bench from gymandfitness. 30cm wide and thick hard padding that won't compress. height is just outside IPF specs though, but I measured against ER bench and only 1cm higher. The only think I don't like is the wheels which are not needed

    Weight trees

the gym direct ones look solid enough. Weight Plate Rack (Olympic size) MOPR It just needs to hold the weights. I have a very cheap one sitting at the Allround weightlifting gym that just had standard poles, and holds 4x25kg olympic plates no problem. Otherwise get one welded up, that's where...

    lock jaw collars

for dumbells you'd be better off with screw collars like these Force USA Olympic Screw Collar (Pair) Of the two you linked the lockjaws would be better, I have the pro version at home for my barbell and they are fine, solid grip, not as easy to take on and off as muscle clamps, but much better...

    taking care of equipment

I have both a Texas power bar and an Eleiko Powerlifting bar. When I bought the Eleiko bar it was $1200 ( before the current distributor took over and prices skyrocketed out of proportion to usa pricing ) and the only other choice of reasonable bar was the ABC at $ 500 approx Eleiko is great if...

    Buying a quality barbell

    Buying a quality barbell

The Troy Texas bar I purchased in Australia came in capps packaging and does have the Texas endcap on it. I'm not surprised at the usa price of $250, what I am surprised is the freight quote. I looked at importing 1-2 Texas power bars last year before they were available in australia and two...

The introduction of GPC Australia - Powerlifting

    Buying a quality barbell

why would you not use the ABC in the rack? Pretty hard to destroy it, and if you're the only person using it, and providing you don't make a habit of dumping it off your back it should last both in and out of rack. The part number from ABC for the heavy duty powerlifting bar is BOP220

    What bar do you own?

It's not a public gym, A couple of other members at Allround weightlifting have a key.
