    The Life of a bodybuilder

The ego and desire to win something at some level overtakes all else at times -- I don't understand or possess it myself but 'win at all costs' is taken literally by most at a high level of any sport. Even at club cycling level, there were a number of users at 'B' grade with one club because...

    100 burpees Challenge!

Thanks, Fadi. The bearded lady thing did deter me, but 'highly unlikely' sounds like a risk I'm willing to take in the interest of experimentation :). I'll sit on the wait list for some of the red magic and see how it goes.

    Onions?!?

The alliums have a fascinating history among myth and folklore. The ancient Egyptians implanted onions into the cavities of the dead in the hope that onions' properties would stimulate the dead into breathing. And the Welsh wielded leeks as part of their battle strategies and identification of...

    100 burpees Challenge!

I've seen your photo ... how many broken ribs might I expect from this bear hug? :D Just back on the BA topic, I am sometimes extremely tired by Thursday/Friday and my end-of-week session gets done but with a fair amount of struggle -- would BA give a little perk-up? I know there's no...

    Yet another comeback. Hey Gang!

I am in a similar boat ... the first few weeks will settle the pending mismatch between the progress your brain wants and what your body can do in the early weeks and you'll be back in the groove soon. Get that upper body back, man -- it's impressive!

the what u saw at the gym TODAY thread

I was in my cage setting up the bar and saw two men walk up to the opposite corner where the big, neglected dumbbells lay. They wrangled with getting some monster weights off the rack for a couple of minutes and I wondered what on earth was going on, and then both ripped three perfect sets of...

    Anabolic Kulfi

Fantastic idea! I once had kulfi *and* gulab jamun in the same bowl at an Indian buffet, and was in a deep and sorry sugar crash for hours. Haven't touched anything remotely looking like an Indian dessert since, but I'm bookmarking this alternative.

    Bar position for squats

I thought I rested the bar low, but perhaps it's medium. I was going to take a photo today but wrestling a bar in a cage on my traps while wielding the camera had too high a degree of difficulty. I might ask someone next time instead of trying to do it myself.

the what u saw at the gym TODAY thread

I saw someone I shut out of my life and thought I'd never see because he said he lifted weights elsewhere. Didn't mention he did martial arts though at the new gym. I don't like looking over my shoulder, knowing a ghost from the past might be nearby. I saw another 5kg on my squat for 3 x 8 reps...

Hmm, thought it might have been a contributor to your fatigue, but probably not. Sounds like the diet change and reduction of caffeine is helping.

the what u saw at the gym TODAY thread

I'd be gaping ... I'm just visualising an Olympic bar with a whole me hanging off each end plus another plate being deadlifted! I saw myself at the new gym in front of not one power cage, but TWO! And no one was using them and I got to choose one! Then I had to work and stop admiring the damn...
