Yeah, I'll just use plates for squats for warmup sets then jump on the 60kg bar, np I wanted to thankyou again for all your generosity with the stands, and for the discount on the bar and plates, so thankyou. It started spitting and I noticed that might be a problem so I hung a tarp from the...

Question: Does anyone know an easier way to load and unload the bar. It would be easier to keep a pair of 20's, but they would be too heavy for warmup sets.......suggestions? P.S. Click for much bigger clearer pic.

Am going with the ABC bar and 147.5kg AK rubber coated plates. Friday, am going to pick up the stands (thankyou markos, see you tomorrow as well) go to ABC (they only have the ladies knurling, will see which one suits then order or buy) then to AK to pickup the plates (assuming they are ready)...

Haz, I found some bumpers with solid metal hubs, but I dunno..... Now, it's the AK rubber coated plates AND -An ABC powerbar OR -2 x 15kg bumper plates (quality???) + GD 600kg rated barbell The bumpers look good, but unless I know how they perform I do not want to spend the money, and find...

Whoa, 2K is a bit of an exaggeration, I'm only looking at getting a pair of 15 or 20's. If something happens at least I know ALL my plates are not going to shatter on impact. If I fail, the stands would catch the plates, not the bar like in a powerack, so plates that will not shatter from being...

Guys, it should be noted that for the first few weeks, these plates will be used on concrete flooring It may be bad for the lifespan of the bumpers, but I can imagine much worse happening if Rubber coated plates were dropped (the stands would catch them by the plate, not the bar).

Oliver, I want to do some power/olympic type movements, and the full set is out of stock till mid-jan. (they are bringing in a new type of plates, with better centers and with the 20's and 25's the same thickness as the 15's) This is the middle ground and I could add maybe the 10kg and smaller...

    Buying a quality barbell

I see what you mean, with the bars going right on the pins in regular racks and stands, but with this one http://ausbb.com/buy-sell-trade/11907-free-good-home.html The bumpers rest directly on the stands, the bar never touches it, Do you think the MM one will be able to take a fair bit of...

    Buying a quality barbell

Oliver, after this purchase, that is pretty much it for now. I won't be buying another bar or rack or anything for quite a long time, I don't like owing money to people, but this was a once off so I can train properly and frequently enough. There is not much point buying a cheaper barbell for...

    Buying a quality barbell

How much did everyone pay for their ABC powerbars? I was quoted $563.73 in the pricelist, sent another e-mail asking for their best price. Just sort of wondering what is the norm? I am considering getting an ABC bar due to Markos' generosity with the stands, the extra money may be better...

Hmm, I was thinking bumpers because if something happens I would like to be able to dump the bar without worrying about wrecking the floor. @lozzo The squat rack is only 170ish, and I need a place to be able to set the bar for squats etc. Is there another way I can do this? All this is under a...
