    Check out The Fieldhouse, just opened up. It's the closest thing to a properly equipped gym on the southside without paying $100s of dollars at Crossfit loganholme. Also I go to Goodlife and for powerlifting it's a perfectly acceptable gym.

    foam rollers, pipes and balls, oh my!

    Lacrosse ball, foam roller (or home made pvc pipe) and a small hard ball for doing your feet. Rubber bouncy balls work well.

    Does the 1x8 on squats and deads in Bill Starrs 5x5 count as a back off set? Or does this imply more than one set.

    Have a look at 'Movements Fitness', it's in Buranda/Annerley at the top of Centro Buranda. I used to go there, multiple oly bars, 1 power cage and 1 a-frame squat rack. Unless it's changed in the last year or so. EDIT: Also Moorooka is not the southside, not even close. It's just confusing

    Single Income Partnerships/Marriage

    I wouldn't mind staying at home to look after the kids etc while my gf worked, but as a teacher I don't think she would earn enough to support us both + a kid. I think owning a house would help a bit but I still think I'd have to find some sort of part time work.

    Didn't go to the gym at all for over 8 months. Was still training 2x week gridiron with one game on the weekend. Had somewhere around a 5RM of 130-140kg on squat. Came back doing SS starting at around 100kg and moved my way up. Over the last 6 months of training I've hit a new 5RM of 150kg and...

    Cheap chicken breasts

    Not quite related, but the Pattons seems to be the only place I can find proper grass fed beef that isn't ridiculously expensive. Everywhere else is grain finished which totally defeats the purpose.

    1kg seems a bit too much of a variation. Imagine if you got a full set of 20s that were off by a kg? Your 180kg dead turns into a 172kg one...
