Texas deadlift bar and Texas power bar

Doesn't UGE offer the Texas Deadlift Bar at AUD899+, Power Bar for AUD799+ and Squat Bar for AUD1000+...? I'll admit that I haven't had a great experience buying through UGE, but the prices you've listed are above locally listed... Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk

    One Bar or Two.

Thanks mate - happy to help. When I do my gym video, I'll do a review of most of the bits of kit that I've got. I'd considered the same for plate storage, but would likely only so that with some of the plates to sit alongside my deadlift platform. Ain't nobody want to be picking up plates from...

    Buying a quality barbell

    Holy old thread revival batman!

Also didn't mention that the Hellion Plates are thinner and cheaper than any comparable 'elite' or 'premium' plates in the market.

I've just measured the sleeves in a few places, and they are very consistently D50.0-50.1mm. Measured the shaft, and I'm looking at D28.8-29.0mm relatively consistently across the shaft - no rapid variations, straight as an arrow. Minor variation in knurl - only if I'm being extremely pedantic...

    One Bar or Two.

I'll be the first to admit that ABCs customer service didn't instil great confidence in me, but after trying a couple of their bars that had spent 18 months in the power racks (funnily enough the same MM racks that I have) at 'Iron Strength' up in Cairns, I was sold. These bars looked as good...

Which Sam's rack are you thinking of getting? I've used a couple of them, and reckon they're pretty good kit. I've had limited first hand experience with a few of the Sam's stocked ATX bars, and found them quite well built. Not sure about durability but feel was good, and build quality high...

I'm another advocate for the ABC Bar - one of my newest home gym additions - but I certainly couldn't recommend it for Olympic lifts. It's just honestly too resistive to collar spin with a decent weight on. That said, if I was going for 'one bar only' and intended on doing both, I'd perhaps go...

Yeah mate, I do plan to at some point.

Competing in both GPC and PA

I'm keen to try and jump to PA at the end of the year or beginning of next to try to qualify for and (just for the experience) attend Nationals 2017 - which I imagine would be at the Arnold again...

Yeah, I get where you're coming from. Yeah, I reckon you might find it hard, but good luck with it nonetheless!

Personal Training - Courses, Experience and Accreditation

I agree with all that you've said - for many (if not all), longevity is the name of the game once you realise that this isn't a 'quick' sport - it's a lifestyle choice with many different and enduring goals. Ive never had a long term trainer (especially not a terrible one), but have spent...

Competing in both GPC and PA

At the last competition I attended, there was testing - but how rigorous and random/targeted it might have been, no idea. They certainly wouldn't be coming to my house to test me though, I would think that beyond their means...

Personal Training - Courses, Experience and Accreditation

Yeah, I quite often want to push the commercial gym trainer out of the way and explain to their client what they body is doing, and what they should be thinking about and focussing on. It's frightening to see how little many of them know or care.
