All Dairy is Bad!(?) - Please discuss

Good post Rambodian. You bring up a lot of issues, such as whether Keto diets are good for us, which also leads to whether high protein diets and BB diets or even carrying huge amounts of muscles on our frames is healthy too. Tell someone with a six-pack they have a dangerously low, unhealthy...

All Dairy is Bad!(?) - Please discuss

Im not sure what you mean...Some people get diarhoea every time they have a cup of milk, I'm pretty sure it still happened before they had a more palatable name for it? As for MY diet, yeah Im sure there are other things to cross off the shopping list before dairy...dairy isn't my #1 offender...

All Dairy is Bad!(?) - Please discuss

So far the response hasn't been very open minded lol... While Im not in any particular camp, milk is only one source of protein available to us and while mother nature intends for us to drink human milk when we are young, I can't think of a reason we HAVE to drink milk, rather we choose to...

All Dairy is Bad!(?) - Please discuss

Don't shoot the messenger! Recently Ive been hearing that not only is eating animal flesh bad for us, but eating dairy products is bad for us too. Most people on this forum I suspect want to be healthy (or learn how to be healthy) and thats why we are here, so I thought this might be a...

    Gym attire

I reckon the chicks look good in their new matching color coded tights, singlets, water bottles and headbands etc. Nice to see them make the effort :D Guys shouldn't wear matching gym gear though, unless they want to pretend they are sponsored by the mardi gras. Having said that 99% of my...

Pros and Cons of Drug Use

Fair enough, but I'd hope that a doctor wouldn't give me something and instruct me how to use it if he knew nothing about it, whereas friends probably would. I'd expect him to refer me to an endocrinologist or whatever, just like my dentist referred me to a maxillofacial surgeon for my wisdom...

Pros and Cons of Drug Use

I know nothing about steroids except what I have read on these forums and don't ever intend to use them, unless they were recommended and prescribed to me by my doctor. I would find it alarming to hear that people inject substances into themselves that have been imported illegaly and sold on...

    Squat technique

Correct but your average wellness centre PT generally doesn't really place as much value on correct squatting technique as we do on here, for example the PT at my gym just couldn't understand my obsession with squatting below parallel as apparently "you don't have to go that far down". Well not...

    Dips

Yep dips are good. I do them at the end on Bench day. Putting a 15kg dumbell between your feet seems to keep you pretty upright, but I still find my sternum tears a bit. Dips are like an ultra-exagerated decline bench press.

    My first squats

Its one of those cases where it might only be 1cm thick but that makes it 1cm away from optimal. It changes your centre of gravity by 1cm and the position of your elbows and hads by 1cm. When you deadlift do you want your shoes to be 1cm thicker because it feels comfy?

    Women On Steroids

Good read, I reckon people are crazy to unnnaturally mess with their body chemistry unless they have to. Then again I drink alcohol and used to smoke cigarettes and both by all reports do some crazy things to your body chemistry, so I know Im a hyprocrite.

What do you consider as being "strong"?

Yeah but deadlifts and pressing ARE functional as they don't isolate muscles unnaturally like machines do. Im sure you could pulll a truck or lift a rock better than most directly because of your compound lifts.

What do you consider as being "strong"?

C'mon guys, strong is relative a relative term and depends who you're talking to and what the subject is. Squatting 110kg doesn't make you strong on this forum, but where I work that would be considered incredibly strong (if they knew what a proper squat was). I think you could break down...

    Post Your Back Workout

I doing Starting Strength so pretty much everything I do except dips (as assistance) involves using my back. Deadlifts, Bent Rows and Chins mainly, but Squats and Overhead Press definitely demand a strong back, and even bench engages the lower back somewhat. I'm still not exactly sure why...

    Have you ever taken Steroids?

I don't think I'd ever use steroids to improve my performance or to look better or to pick up chicks, Im not that vain. And if I used steroids and they improved my lifts I'd feel the need to tell people "Im not that good really, it's the steroids". BUt really I only lift for my own...

Is my routine any good ?

Ive noticed lately that Ive started feeling DL's higher in my back (maybe where lats attach) whereas I used to feel like my lower back was about to give out. I don't think Im rounding my back, if anything I'm leaning back more and dragging the bar across my knees. Definitely using heaps of...

2 x PBs for me tonight!

It could be either mate, they should specify. If you only managed 5 reps at a certain weight previously, then 6 reps at the same weight would be a PB. Likewise if you could only manage 1 set of 5 reps, then if you managed a 2nd set of 5 or even a couple more it would be a PB. Usually...
