Ronnie Coleman appearing in Sydney tomorrow.

In the interview he's asked about supplements and he says "I have my calcium, my multi-vitamin, my proetein, my...." and it just drops off... Did what he said then get edited for the kids?

    Wider Grip?!

I was reading about this in SS last night... Basically the grip widht affects the ROM and when the load transfers from the chest to the tri's. Also, from memory (it was only 15 hours ago!) wide grip allows you to use more chest at the bottom of the lift. So if you're struggling to lock it...

[Article] Getting to know the squat - All you need to know about squatting.

I had a bit of a realisation tonight when I tried setting the bar on the set of hooks lower than the hooks I normally use, which meant the bar was just below nipple height rather than about 10cm above. This meant I had to bend right down and get right under the bar and that my forearms were...

    The Biggest Loser - 2011

I thought Pistachio was making a Michelin Man joke  Anyway it will be interesting to see who gets the best reults out of the Judo chick, the Commando, and the 2 "modern" trainers. Not a barbell to be seen I bet...

    The Biggest Loser - 2011

This is a sobering point. Seriously, how can someone lose 20kg in a week unless it's just fluid? Or one hell of a colonic :p I wouldn't be surprised too if 1 week on the show took 3 weeks to film etc. Im sure there are all sorts of hormones/diuretics/other drugs that can speed up weight loss...

    The Biggest Loser - 2011

The problem most obese people have other than laziness in my opinion is 1) they have no idea about nutrition and 2) Their eating habits (frequency/volume) is farking ridiculous. I think this show does well in educating the general public in the above 2 issues.

    The Biggest Loser - 2011

I question the fitness of anyone who can't stomach a feed from macca's. They claim to be so mentally strong they can push through pain barriers but hurl when they have to eat a hotdog? Seriously, HTFU!!

    The Biggest Loser - 2011

I love watching fat people be made to exercise and suffer for their sins. Makes me feel like there is some good in the world. :) FWIW I'm not big on the whole 'journey' thing either....

    The Biggest Loser - 2011

Who's gonna be watching this? I'm looking forward to watching this season after not paying attention really since the first 2 seasons. This year there are 4 groups of 4 family members, and the 1st episode on Sunday they had the trainers get assigned a group and live AND EAT with them for a...

[Article] Getting to know the squat - All you need to know about squatting.

The only difference I noticed compared to SS/Rippetoe is Rippetoe says not to squeeze the bar and that the hands are merely pressing the bar against your back...or thats what I recall he says... I cant get my wrists straight though, I have to keep working on that.

    3200 calorie Food Plan

BTW since posting here I've added Fadi's butter chicken and basmati as a 2nd lunch on work days... it's been good on days I lift, not so good on days that I run! Ill persist for a while and keep an eye on the scales.

    Strength or Body Building ?

Lol @ Oliver, way to end a thread!! I know this thread is old but as a novice who has just squatted sets of 102.5kg, 120kg sounds do-able but 140kg sounds like a bit of a stretch. Bay steps hey? I'm sure when I get to 120kg my view on what's possible could be totally different. Anyway, lots of...

Is Starting Strength or a split going to build most muscle for 15mnths trainee?

Okay, thanks for clearing that up. I feel a lot of wannabe guru's like to make bold, over simplistic statements that sound cool but have no substance behind them. :)

Help me develop a new routine

Hi Brett, check this out here: http://ausbb.com/strength-training-power-lifting/9460-beginners-program.html basically it discusses the beginner workouts to death, whu they are what they are, why the reps are how they are, what constitutes a beginner, what people who have tried them think etc...

[Article] Getting to know the squat - All you need to know about squatting.

Hamburgler, I was having a similar problem but Ive brought my stance in a bit and straightened up my feet a bit too. I found when I did a squat without the bar, at the bottom I could feel my hips almost dislocate (kind of) and that was when it hurt the most. By bringing my feet no wider than...

    Biggest Nutrition Myths

I'm in total agreeance, and I certainly wouldn't recommend anyone starve themselves, rather they should address liefestyle issues/habits etc. I just wanted to nail down the theory...of course in practice people are weak willed and there are other factors but you know it's not the theory that's...

Noobs I read this but you didn't cover my question. Thanks for your response Bro. I totally agree with what you are saying and to lose weight I lifted weights and did cardio and lost the 9kgs I wanted to... But specifically my sister in law is overweight and would be happy to settle for...
