    Starting Strength questions

Rippetoe is a great program. For the deadlifts, Rippetoe says to do 2x5 warm-up sets, so you'll be doing 3x5...but only pushing really hard on one of those sets.

    10-15kg possible by january?

If you eat enough, you don't need supplements (based on my experience). Skim milk is your friend. Instead of having a protein shake in 300ml of water, have 600ml of skim milk straight. 2L a day of skim milk will give you about 70g of protein, and cost you about $2 a day - a cheaper alternative...

    10-15kg possible by january?

I'm living proof. When I signed up to Ausbb, I was 73kg (only 2 weeks ago), I'm 77kg now, and I can still sort of see my abs. Bump up the calories, and train your legs. Train them hard. Train them HEAVY. Squat, and thou shalt grow!

Pansy Wrist: Is there a cure?

Noted :) But if you're a body builder...you would know at least 1 person who is on steroids... I've heard of and seen "acromegaly" in action...but I've never heard of somebody's bones (such as wrist bones) become thicker...just wondering if anyone had seen it. I wouldn't consider taking...

Pansy Wrist: Is there a cure?

Josh, I have every single complex in the book. The main reason I've started to seriously train is because of my extremely low self esteem. Nothin beats being happy / content when you look at urself in the mirror, and that's what I hope to achieve by April 2011 after 1.5 years of serious...

Pansy Wrist: Is there a cure?

That reminds me of what people tell a girl wit an ugly face: "Just get a boob job girl, nobody will care how your face looks after that" :p As an aside question, and no, I'm asking out of interest, is there anyone on here who has experience with DECA or Other GH based roids, who can confirm...

Pansy Wrist: Is there a cure?

To follow on from my "Office Arse: Is there a cure?" thread...I have another distressing ailment to ask you all about... Pansy Wrist. You know...that ailment where watches always look big on your arm, even if it's the smallest bezel watch available? You know...that ailment where the size of...

    Thrusters = Sore Delts

I've pencilled this in for my "circuit" month which starts in December. Seems like a really good exercise for fat-burning and muscle-maintenance.

Calf (and other lagging muscles) Training Frequency

Josh, With my shoulders, whenever I lift heavy, I feel a deep tinge / pain. It's not muscle pain, it feels like joint pain, which I've been told is either my rotator cuffs (95% likely), or extra tightness in my pectoralis minora (5% likely). I've been told the more i strengthen my RCs, the...

Calf (and other lagging muscles) Training Frequency

Hey Guys, My calves and shoulders are majorly lagging behind the rest of my body: 1 - The reason my shoulders are lagging is because of my rotator cuffs 2- My calfs are just pitiful - end of story. Here's the question. I've read Fadi's article on the "Rotator Cuff" and have started doing the...

Hey guys, My current training schedule (with an aim to bulk up) is as follows: Training Days: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday Rest Days: Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday Question is, what should I be doing on rest days? Should I basically be sitting on my arse all day "resting", or is it OK to...

Office Arse: Is there a Cure?

I'll post updates in say, 4 weeks time and see if there's any difference. Now that I've hit enough posts to post pictures up, I might start a training journal, and just put the pics in there. And yes Josh...I started my "5000 cpd diet" and my "body building training" only on Monday...already...

Office Arse: Is there a Cure?

I've hit 15 posts! Here are the pics! (I've included a shot of my front and my back, just to give a basic idea of where I stand in the "body fat" stakes). Pics were taken on Wednesday 30/9/2009. View from the side: View from the back: view from the front: Obviously, I'm no Goliath, and...

    dehydration

I barely drink any water during the day...maybe 1.5L per day... 300ml with my morning dose of Cell-Mass, 300ml with my pre-workout NO Xplode, and 300ml with my post workout dose of Cell-Mass BUT I drink about 2 litres of skim milk a day, so I suppose that covers my hydration requirements, and...

constapation....if thats how u spell it!

Here's a question about fibre / psyllium husks etc: If you run psyllium husks / high volumes of fibre thru ur digestive tract daily (and also take probiotics), and give your stomach and intestinal linings a very good clean out, is it likely to increase the amount of beneficial vitamins...

Office Arse: Is there a Cure?

I stopped because I felt like I needed something a little bit different, was also getting a bit bored of the repetitive routines (bench, squats, deads, then power cleans, military presses, squats, every other day). After a few months of training, I'll probably go back to doing a program similar...
