    I do this. My first rep is always a proper comp style pause on chest, then press and hold for a second... then the other reps are paused like there was a 2 board there. Only because I'm trying to save my shoulders and still bench. I get no leg drive at all. Couldn't get it to work so gave up...

    I think you'll find that the more experienced guys actually have an OFF SEASON so to speak. They'll spend that time doing hypertrophy/bodybuilding type work in terms of reps/sets/variations of the lifts and drop the heavy triples or singles etc. Most of them also do incline bench or floor...
