Finally brought a house - Bring on the home gym!

I brought it home from the shop i bought it at :) (FitnessAndStrength) (El cheapo brandless crossover, but it has 2x100kg weight stacks and the sample one i tried felt decent enough for home use, and at $533, who can complain!)

Finally brought a house - Bring on the home gym!

Picked up a Startrack commercial spin bike on Gumtree to add in, with the shed ready to go and a bit of my existing gear moved over, this is what i've got to fit my home gym into I've brought, but not yet assembled, a cheap cable crossover and I'll be pushing the button on a rack, bar & weights...

Finally brought a house - Bring on the home gym!

I guess a 10mm rubber mat under the plates would set the height correctly, might even be a good thing actually...

Finally brought a house - Bring on the home gym!

Compared to the 490K for the house :) In context it's not a lot more than a good lounge suite for the bulk of this!

Finally brought a house - Bring on the home gym!

Hmm, it seems ForceUSA plates are smaller diameter than standard (not 450mm for 20's and 25's) ... Does anyone have any ideas for a good supplier for cheap rubber coated plates? .. (Iron Edge are just a bit pricey at almost $5/KG) .. Aussie strength looks to have similar plates at $3/KG, but...

Finally brought a house - Bring on the home gym!

Right... so after 2 months traipsing around europe and the middle east not working out at all and another month going through stresses of buying a house, planning a move, getting made redundant and finding a new job! (sheez), I've just got moving in (settling on Thursday) and starting to...

    Dave Hoff totals 2960

As an outsider, I must admit i don't really see even single-ply as 'real lifting' and tend to be more impressed by raw numbers. I know it's still impressive, but it doesn't resonate the same way with me. I agree with the others above that multi-ply is just all kinds of stupid.

    Good Olympic Weightlifting Equipment

do you have a platform?... you might want to budget for something in that area if you dont to save your bumpers from an early death. I use the Ironedge premium plates at my gym and they get thrashed by crossfitters all the time and are still in good condition, they are pricey though, they are a...

    The PB Thread

The guy i train with has managed to hit 80kg x 10 for squats with pretty good depth @ 78kg around 3 months after doing a squat for the first time, and this was after a 10km 45 minute run and a 10 minute cycle and an hours general workout (not legs though). Better progression than i made at that...
