Powerlifting / Oly type gyms in Adelaide

The only gyms I can think of worth going to in Adelaide are Limbos Gym, City Gym, Fast Twitch and Australian Muscle are currently under way to opening a gym. The gym you are referring to is Fortius Gym from memory, I've never been there and I actually haven't heard it mentioned for a few years.

    Weird thing happened today...

Swap the rower out for a spin bike, then squat just the bar, add weight and drop reps as you go. I usually do 5 mins spin bike (30% max hr), 20-30 reps with the bar, 10 reps @ 60kg, 8 reps @ 80kg, then my working sets.

    Powerlifting, a paralympic sport

There as some very questionable sports in the Olympics, I can't really see why Powerlifting isn't really being concidered. I'd be happy if it was just the deadlift and the squat.

    Training Partners

I'm a lot more focused on my own that's for sure. I know what I have to do and I get it done. It's just me, some iron and some heavy metal with abit of grunting :)

    Training Partners

I train alone and think that I'm a better lifter for it. I occasionally have my mate around to train with and it's great to catch up but I feel at my strongest when I'm alone, I also have more motivation alone. In saying that, I wish I had a spotter when doing HEAVY sets.

Deadlifts using a deadlift lever machine

It looks like it could be used well with higher rep deadlifts. Using it for any less than 5 reps is retarded though.

Strongman Grading Events - Aus Wide

Sorry, I'm stilll a little confused. If I choose to do say a 200kg Yoke, I only have to move it to 1.5m then I can move on to the other event? Is there a total distance to aim for? The last SM comp I did I'm pretty sure the Yoke was 30m.
