For mine, any program is simply a starting point. From there it can and should be tailored to the individual. But before that (for average jo blo playing at home), just run it as rxd and see what happens, then look at adjustements (it any at all are even needed).

But anyway! Are you gunna run that one?

Na, I'm doing a version of wendler that is like push pull and it seems to be keeping me feeling good and progressing, may as well stick with it

5/3/1 are the absolute minimum reps for wendlers program anyway. When starting you should ideally be hitting something like 12/10/8 reps in the first cycle, and striving for minimum rep drops in the following cycles aiming to keep reps high for as long as possible. Anyone who thinks it's a low rep program obviously hasn't looked into it too deeply. Also there are endless ways you can set it up, ultimately it's just a progression model for the main lifts.
