Essendon ASADA investigation: Players not guilty of using banned peptide, AFL Anti-Doping Tribunal finds - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)

Bullshit. What next- they will clear Ben Cousins of having a drug problem?

ASADA is correct to be disgusted with the AFL verdict which really has no force under WADA. Essendon players willingly accepted daily injections. They are old enough to vote, drive cars and sign multi million dollar contracts. Ignorance is no excuse.

this damages the international reputation of Australian sports.

ASADA must appeal and have the entire club and all players involved subject to penalty under WADA.

Yes, well after all this, maybe all professional athletes will stop taking performance enhancing drugs.
lol.

AFL needed to it , they don't want to head into another season with a drug cloud hanging over .... except that has one gone up in bong smoke due to collingwoods clenbuterol problem

and what the fuck is tobe watson saying , that tosser admitted the other year to taking illegal drugs so that he wouldn't get a harsh penalty

They weren't found NOT GUILTY, the finding was that there wasn't enough evidence to provide a guilty finding, this was mainly due tot he fact or such poor record keeping of what went on and the fact the ASADA and AFL are both powerless to make the likes of Dank and Carter provided evidence. Then again if you are doing dodgey shit which they clearly were why would you keep any evidence at all after the news comes out they have been caught? You be sheading and deleting all evidence like a MOFO to get rid of anything.....

The whole thing is bullshit and the only way AFL could punish the club was for poor governance as there is no direct proof on what each individual player has taken even though the evidence may be sound for what was provided to the club and players as a whole, but not individually.

AND no those arrogant fucks are coming out claiming they have been targeted and bullied and singled out when they have been innocent all along, what shit, they have basically got off on a technicality, this doesn't mean you are innocent or have been vindicated it just means there isn't the evidence solid enough for a conviction you kunce!!!!!!!!!

Using supplements to increase recovery and reduce injury is nebulous at best, so IMO the EFC are and were silly to follow and pursue this line of thought.

However if there was conclusive proof (which there isn't) that "supplements did in fact do what they are proposed to do then aren't they doing are good thing?

And what is the difference between a jab and a pill, or powder?

A thought: a guilty verdict would, because of the association rules ASADA has brought in, take down a LOT of people...

Excuse my French but how the fuck are the AFL allowed to clear one of its teams of PED usage. That would be thrown out of court in five minutes due to a massive breach of Natural Justice.

So the inmates are now running the asylum. Of course the AFL want their clubs and players to appear squeaky clean.

"ASADA boss Ben McDevitt slammed the Bombers’ 2012 supplement program at a press conference in Canberra, saying the anti-doping body has yet to make a decision regarding an appeal. It has 21 days to decide.McDevitt said the problems at Essendon in 2012 were “far more serious than poor governance”. “Hundreds, maybe thousands, of injections, unsupervised and undocumented, were given to Essendon players during the 2012 season,” McDevitt said.
“An absolutely deplorable and disgraceful lack of records of these injections means we still have young men not knowing what was injected into them.
“They’ve been used as pincushions.”

When asked about AFL chief Gillon McLachlan’s comments on Tuesday that he hoped ASADA would accept the tribunal’s decision and forego an appeal, McDevitt said: “This is not a decision for Gill McLachlan.”"

Those who refused to give evidence to the tribunal could be compelled to do so by ASADA under the ASADA act. That would be heard in a real court and refusing to appear would be contempt of court. Armstrong went down for far less.
