Anterior compartment syndrome

Legion

New member
Hi,

It looks like I have lower leg chronic anterior compartment syndrome. My GP said thats what he thought it was but I went into the specialist expecting something like I'm throwing my foot funny. Getting cut open was not what I was expecting so I'm thinking of all my questions now.

It seems there are two options

1) Change lifestyle and work around it. Swim or cycle and avoid walking/running

2) Fasciotomy - surgery

Has anyone had it done?

-I understand the sheath grows back so did you find it was a permanent fix?
-Could you walk after surgery? I understand it takes a couple months to recover.
If your not a competitive athlete did you find it worthwhile?
