Just to be clear :)

I AM NOT ENTERING ANY CONTESTS.

THIS IS JUST FOR ME TO KEEP A RECORD.

OK so here goes ... :D

Goals 2013

1. Gain more LBM (slow and steady, as lean a gain as is sensible)
  • All over obviously but with a focus on my (skinny) fat legs and non existent shoulders
  • Get to 18% BF by end of year (to maintain thereafter maybe)
  • Keep working on that samba toosh. Not sure why, but hell, why not? :D
2. Improve strength and set my own PBs at my own pace

  • 3 figure DL PBs ... want my 100kg in January and then see after that
  • BW bench (I hate bench but my trainer wants to aim for that...meh, ok :rolleyes:)
  • stay injury free and start squatting again and just see how I go with that
  • fix remaining biomechanical issue with left shoulder so I can press again
3. Regain and maintain cardio fitness (also helps with asthma)


4. Impove KB skills - no comp ambitions but like to train for them.

Weight: 45.2kg
BF%: ~ 21% based on 18 Aug 12 DEXA scan



Chest: 78cm
Waist: 63m
Hips: 86cm
R Thigh: 46cm
L Thigh: 46cm
R Bicep: 25cm
L Bicep: 24.5cm
R Calf: 30cm
L Calf: 30cm

Just curious, you said that you want to get to 18% (only just saw your goals). Looks very achievable.

Actually, it's probably going to be more of a challenge than you think! BF% is a rubbish stat tbh. I am extremely lean and am pretty much fat free in the upper bod. I just carry a bit in my legs and toosh region, which is normal. BF% is only 21% because I am way below where I should be with my LBM.
So losing one or two kgs of fat might be harder than it normally would be. But the fatloss part is totally contingent on me gaining sufficient LBM throughout the year. If I can do that without putting on too much fat along with it, might be a bit easier.

Main goal is gain LBM. the 18% is a nice to have. If I have to wait until 2014, that's OK. LOL all I normally would need to do is IF for a while :D

That's what I was getting at, once you increase your LBM your bf will drop. Never once thought you've got fat to drop.

Fat on quads...I must be blind. So are you going to do all your logging here or in the regular thread? Just update this one every now and again?

LBM gains require more gluten/fructose free organic pop tarts :p

LOL not fat ON quads ... fat where my quads should be. Right now, quads are MIA :cool:

I'm on Operation Quadlies (amongst other things) this year.
My hammies are very strong and quite well defined but I seriously just have jelly (aka fat) where my quads should be. This is annoying because think about the relative size of ones quads as a muscle group ... if I actually put on some LBM there, I'd not only be stronger but I'd also instantly (aka slowly and patiently over decades) address a good whack of my LBM gains and reduce BF%.

haha re pop tarts ... I might wait until I've kicked this fructose/fructan thing before I go all out with those cardboardy delights :p

But yes, I'm forcing down the carbolas ... mostly nighttime and damn if I still don't get the bloat ugh.
In an ideal world, there would be no carbs ... I'd be fully keto. Not because i love fats, but because carbs are so aggressive as a macro :p

will be keeping my training log for daily training updates. This is just a thread for me to post my goals, and progress update throughout the year.

I hate the legs so much I didn't even post the pics. Probably should.

Gahhhh, I have such a long road ahead. But at least I feel confident this year. Last year was much harder having to adjust to eating so much more.
