Supplements for Knee Rehab

I have trashed my right knee in a basketball game and unfortunately have to have surgery. I need a reconstruction of the ACL ligament and stitch up of the medial meniscus tear. I saw the specialist today and have been booked in for this Thursday.

Like most people, I want to have regain as close to 100% functionality/performance as I possibly can so one of the steps I have taken is doing some research regarding joint health supplements. I came across a few I thought I'd start taking to 'aid' in my rehab of the knee.

So what are your opinions on the following (these are the most common ingredients I found in various joint formula mixes):

Methyl Sulfonyl Methane (MSM)
Glucosamine Sulfate
Chondroitin Sulfate
Joint Complex

Cissus Quadrangularis
Cissus Quadrangularis (10-1)

Collagen Type II

Honestly mate I wouldn't bother I have had a knee reco and played Aussie rules 9 mths after getting my reco, most recommend 12 mths....

all I took maybe was protein powder, however, I pushed myself every time I did anything for rehab, I was only on crutches for 1 wk, then I was constantly trying to bend the knee to get it moving, once I could walk I was walking everywhere and often, yes it did swell but i lso rwsted it and iced regularly after exercise, once it was strong enough i was pushing it on a stationary bike and joggin as well till it was nice and strong as well as leg press, calf raises, leg curls etc etc

So you can do it without Supps and i don't think they re needed for this type of injury and surgery...
