Well been feeling like crap for a quite few months putting on weight round tummy and no matter how i train or diet getting no where.

So went to doctor and got him to do a few tests. I have always had high chloresterol (6.9 to 7.2)but good chloresterol always high too (1.8) but this time he suggested we go on tab as it is creeping up and we might as well nip it in the but now rather than later.

As i thought my testosterone was low and he said something about some sort of treatment but we would look at it again in 3 months time when we do chloresterol tests again and see how they are.

Anyway brought tests home to look at them and testesterone levels was10.8. I am not sure how low that is and what normal leveals are for a 44yr old man can anyone help with what levels should be.

I had similar results and the doctor said wait three months. I was angered by the fact that I've be training and eating well for three years... What's three months going to do? So I took a course of steroids. My life chugged for ten weeks, it wasn't like I was some meat head body builder but I felt normal. My immune system was good. Sex life was great. I put on weight but I ate and ate nit worried about body fat.

My suggestion. See another doctor. Ask him for a referral to a specialist. I can recommend one for you that travels to most capital cities if you want.

It's worse to have low test then high test.

Note: make sure you have FULL bloodwork done before seeing a specialist or you will just have to get more done. Include fsh, lh, cortisiol, thyroid etc

Have had full tests done,he said he wants to wait 3months and check with chloresterol as he thinks testosterone reading might be a false reading and does not want to rush into anything as the treatment he was talking about has an increased risk of prostrate cancer.
 
Right, off to a GP for me then to get my full bloodwork done, then I'll take that specialist's name Gauche. Unless its the same bloke n00bs and Sticky would recommend in which case I think I've already got his details.

I'm sick of my lack of recovery and injuries. I eat big, push hard, rest well and just can't seem to add serious muscle mass and my lifts only go up slowly. Over it.

Yeah same specialist. I start six weeks of hcg on tuesday then I start testosterone replacment after that. Get your doctor to give you a referral and you will be set. The doctor didn't care that I had been using my own illegal steroids as he sympathises with that fact how hard it is to live with low test. I will continue the use of steroids medicinally and recreationally at stages in my life. I will use hcg whenever I plan to have children.

Mike I travelled to Brisbane and stayed with Sticky to see that specialist.
 

Do you have the tests with you? Id be keen to find out what your LH and FSH reading are.... My test was at 12nmol (im 23) an my LH and FSH were relatively high......
 
My lh and fsh were lowered because of my cycle that's why I'm doing hcg for six weeks to see what they come to as it was never tested before then.

If you have low LH and FSH then you probably don't have issues with your balls (noons on here has this issue). If you have good LH and FSH but low T then you most likely have a balls issue.
 
I think I have a problem with my balls. FSH and LH are high, and test is way low. Im going off test in january and trying some HCG to see if that will make a difference. I will also get a result of my sperm count at this stage.

Stewy- The results will be under your "reproductive hormones" heading, along with progesterone and oestradiol......
