They are a great core exercise as well as utilising balance (single leg stability) and depending on weight & reps can be used for a variety of purposes. Can tell you now that lighter weight for a good amount of reps is a great metabolic finisher.
One of the hardest workouts I've done was:
21 TGU right
21 right arm KB swings
21 left arm KB swings
21 TGU left
Did it with a 16kg KB and was destroyed afterwards.
Does no one here want to be fit as well as strong? Complain about boring steady state cardio & when a valid alternative comes along that will FUCK you up & can be done in minimal time, it is written off as useless. Seems strange to me.
