Police have arrested two men and seized a large amount of steroids following an investigation into the interstate trafficking of the prohibited drug.

Early last month, officers from Flemington Local Area Command seized 1000 vials of steroids which were en route to Annandale, in Sydney’s inner west, from an Adelaide address.

The matter was referred to State Crime Command’s Drug Squad who established Strike Force Decor to investigate. Detectives have worked closely with officers from South Australia Police and the Australian Border Force.

Yesterday (Tuesday 3 November 2015), officers executed search warrants at Annandale, in Sydney’s inner west, and four addresses in Adelaide.

NSW Drug Squad detectives arrested a 39-year-old man at the Annandale address.

He was charged with supplying a prohibited drug (greater than a commercial quantity), and five counts of supplying a prohibited drug (greater than an indictable quantity). He was granted conditional bail to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on Monday 23 November 2015.

In Adelaide, South Australia Police accompanied by Australian Border Force officers arrested a 36-year-old man and seized 18kg of powdered steroids.

That man was charged by virtue of a NSW arrest warrant for supplying prohibited drugs. He was expected to appear at Adelaide Magistrates Court today with NSW detectives applying for his extradition.

A further search warrant was executed last night at a home in Kingston by ACT and NSW Police.

Investigations are continuing and police urge anyone with information about the supply or possession of steroids to contact them.
