They treat sick people every day with steroids.

There is a risk / benefit. Do the benefits outweigh the risk?

Most things will kill you if you abuse them. Drink enough water and it will kill you.
 
There is a difference between a doctor using steroids to treat a patient using then than some meat head self injecting :P.

Aids patients are dying at a faster rate than the steroids can kill them. As the steroids allow them to retain more muscle they will possibly live an extra year or three.

But young healthy people using steroids not prescribed and monitored by a doctor will take many years off their lives, as they cause extensive damage to internal organs over time. The negative damage is not realized till years after.
 
yes, i had a mate years ago who got a severely large heart from too much steroids.

dangerous stuff when abused.
