    BCAA's

Reading this whole thread, I would have to agree with BigMick on this one. The fact that very few bodybuilding supplements (if any) actually do anything at all is the main point. BCAAs from my experience did nothing for me. Most of us who train hard and eat lots of protein and/or take protein...

Buying Prostyle Dumbbells - A cyberfit rubber dumbbell review

No I find the exactly opposite. Cheaper dumbbells that are poorly designed have the same diameter handles for the lighter and heavier ones. Common sense says that you need thicker handles on heavier dumbbells as they are mainly used for presses etc, where if the handle is too thin, it really...

Buying Prostyle Dumbbells - A cyberfit rubber dumbbell review

Im like you matt i prefer straight handles that are thicker and have good deep knurling, but that is hard to find in dumbbells. Do the handles get thicker as the dumbbells get heavier?

I was looking at getting some, just not sure if the handles are thick enough.

Whey Protein. Is it all its cracked up to be?

I feel that all supplements are way over rated, I have taken whey, and stopped taking, noticed no difference at all. I don't eat a lot of protein either. I am 105kg and would be lucky to get 100 grams of protein a day, and I'm still making gains and building plenty of muscle. I think that people...

Bulk Nutrients WPI - Coffee & Banana

I recently got some Vanilla WPC from Bulk Nutrients, stuff tastes amazing! Very creamy and nice, not sickly sweet like some other powders I have tasted. I think its pretty much a perfect Vanilla! I give it 9/10. If I could alter it at all, I would just add a touch more Vanilla flavouring in it...

Seems good to go at those percentages

    Venom

I have heard that companies can add glycine a cheap amino acid to bump up the protein levels of a powder.

In terms of flavouring and sweetness, my general view is that most protein powders are well over sweetened. You can debate the amount of flavouring, yes some are a bit weak, some strong, however I personally have never had a protein powder and thought to myself, 'this needs to be sweeter'. Most...

    Supplements & Protein shelf life

no that isnt true. Meat cannot be re packaged with a new expiry date. That would be illegal. It might happen but wouldnt be legal.

    Supplements & Protein shelf life

Well I have contacted Fonterra previously and asked them out of interest what the shelf life of WPC they advised me is was 18 - 24 months from date of manufacture. I did once buy a 20kg bag of WPC and had trouble using it all. Im sure this is done with many other Supps like creatine, aminos and...

    Supplements & Protein shelf life

Something I have noticed in the supplement industry that I would like explained. I have noticed whenever I buy protein or any supplement from most companies (including the bulk selling ones) The shelf life seems to be quite long and doesnt match the raw stock they are holding and processing...

    Fontera

No has nothing to do when you open the bag. Every food product has either an 'expiry date' or 'best before'. The general shelf life of whey proteins is 24 months from the date of manufacture, but if stored really well (in a air tight, light proof container in cool conditions) it will last longer.

    Venom

That response from Venom is about right. Most flavoured WPIs should be around the 88% Protein mark, hopefully the lab tests indicate that!
