    Good chiro in Melbourne

Sweet, I may as well check out Kieser if the first session is free. From what I gather on their website it seems like it's a strength training regime in and of itself. I'll be interested to hear what they have to say about integrating it with other training methods. I'll check out City physio...

    Good chiro in Melbourne

Cheers guys. Not much love for chiros huh? TTT, the Mawby chiro is ~90 km away so a bit far. I'll have a chat to my health fund to see what I'm covered for besides physio and chiro. Not that I'm against seeing an osteopath but if I probably can't afford it if I'm paying the full fee.

    Flat bench 30cm+ wide

The Ironmind bench comes to mind but shipping would probably be crazy expensive. Five Star Flat Bench for presses, rows, flyes - IronMind-ironmind

    Good chiro in Melbourne

Can anyone recommend a decent chiro in the Melbourne CBD/Southbank/South Melbourne area? I've been getting some back pain lately in a few different areas so I want to go see someone about it. Someone who's experienced with lifters (or at least understands the mindset and what's involved) would...

How heavy is heavy for DB wrist curls?

I've never really done a whole lot of wrist-specific training. Only really dabbled with wrist stuff but used to train my grip a lot. Reverse wrist curls I do but only with very light weight. I've always found it a bit of an awkward movement. Thinking about it now, it might work a bit better...

How heavy is heavy for DB wrist curls?

Yeah grippers are a very specific movement and I don't get a big crossover from grippers to deadlifting either. I got into them when I was younger and certified with the #3 about 10 years ago, but my grip was still a weak point for farmers walk and deadlifting for reps. I'm of the opinion that...

How heavy is heavy for DB wrist curls?

Not exactly. Main focus at the moment is staying injury free and building my strength back up. I've had a some bad injuries in the last few years and completely stopped training. Now I'm so detrained I'm treating it like I was starting from scratch. I'd love to get into armwrestling but there...

How heavy is heavy for DB wrist curls?

300-400-500 didn't come about as a measure for how good someone is at powerlifting, just happens it's for the same lifts. It's an old Hardgainer concept. Hardgainer being a long running magazine about bodybuilding and strength training. The idea is that any hardgainer (someone who's not...

How heavy is heavy for DB wrist curls?

Hey Callan shouldn't you be laughing at weights after you can lift them?

How heavy is heavy for DB wrist curls?

Bit like asking John Bzenk how much he squats. You do know there's more to strength training and strength sports than just powerlifting, right? Anyway, I did find some point of reference. ~180 kg thick bar wrist curls with a bit of cheating: NobCwQ7LmOs

How heavy is heavy for DB wrist curls?

You seriously haven't heard of 300/400/500? 300lb bench, 400lb squat, 500lb deadlift? Maybe I was wrong to assume it'd be commonly known here. Wrong audience I guess. Just a rough set of numbers to give people something to work towards. Get past those numbers and you've reached a benchmark...

How heavy is heavy for DB wrist curls?

I started doing dumbbell wrist curls a few weeks ago now I'm looking for some point of reference to work towards. I'm sure everyone has their own ideas but what's considered heavy for this movement? How much would someone strong be lifting? E.g. for bench, squat, deadlift there's 300/400/500...

    Gold Coast Barbell - 2012

Looks like a nice place to train! Wouldn't mind doing a session if I head up that way. Pretty rare to see a wooden log, where'd you score that thing? Farmers bars look like they'd be tough to deal with too - looks like a low pickup and do your legs bump into the plates when it's loaded?

Can you mix bumpers with normal weights?

Nah, you're more likely to just end up breaking your bumpers if you use a single pair of bumpers then load up the rest with smaller weights. Put your $80 towards some protection for your floor - that way you'll save your floor as well as the plates.

Standard Barbell stength, and where to buy???

I'd just grab any 28mm standard bar that you can find. If it does bend then you've got a cambered bar you can use for squatting. If it's only going to be loaded up when deadlifting it'll probably be fine. Things like squatting and power shrugs will bend a bar a lot quicker than deadlifting...

    Force USA Trap bar

Raised handles makes it easier to balance (especially for farmers walks), and if there are handles at the regular height as well then you get 2 different heights that you can pull from which is a bonus. I don't really get hype around fat gripz. I got some about a month back. They're OK, but not...

single best (accessory) exercise for forearm mass?

For a single exercise my vote goes for wrist rolling on a ~2" wrist roller. I started wrist curls in a t bar setup not long ago, which I'm liking at the moment. Same as in this video. Use the link or skip to 2:38 for the exercise: 2010 Nemiroff Promotion: Denis Cyplenkov's final training...
