Well actually that's the counter-intuitive part of all of this, and something I didn't learn at medical school but only after actually entering this area:
It's actually much more common for a bulging disc to repair itself and then go essentially back to normal. It doesn't always result in an...
Haha mate not a worry, I'm pretty sleep-deprived at the moment so we'll see if I can't do the same.
Totally agree re: gravity and the MRI scan making things even more difficult than they already were. Perhaps another reason why the MRI doesn't correlate well with pain or other non-specific...
I assume you didn't read my post above, where I explain there are only a very few specific circumstances where surgery is a useful thing.
In fact, MRI scans are NEVER useful in assessing for levels of pain, and the fact there is a bulging disc at L5/S1 does not mean his pain is any worse or any...
Just FYI:
This may be an example of why doctors should not arrange MRI without clinical signs of nerve compromise - firstly, there is no way of telling whether the L5/S1 bulge is new or old (and if it's old then it's completely unrelated), and secondly no competent surgeon would perform surgery...
People often talk about how cynical of the medical profession they are, yet in Australia the public spends 4 TIMES the amount of money out-of-pocket on supplements and unproven 'natural' products compared to prescription medication.
It is unfortunate that the multivitamin industry has managed...
The size is really only limited by the size of the space you have to work with.
For what it's worth, I've recently got a Gym Direct rack (see my post in the Equipment sub-forum), and it's fantastic - heaps of space, plenty of backup if I fail a lift without a spotter, and I extended rubber...
Thanks - as you can see, I didn't have much space to work with, so the included plate storage was the thing that tipped me over the edge to buying this rack, compared to others. Very convenient!
The bench is just the stock standard 'commercial' flat bench from gym direct, which for about $200...
As promised, an update a week or two into it.
The bench and bar arrived:
So after over a decade hiatus, I'm lifting again. I have to say, it feels good!
And the lasting impression of this bit of kit is that it was worth every penny. Feels like it'll outlive me, and apart from upgrading the...
The article discussed anaerobic exercise inducing lactic acidosis (ie. pH lower than the usual 7.35-7.45), and therefore the bicarbonate was intended to buffer this, or keep pH in the normal range longer - in this context "increase" means a bigger number (ie. from 7.3 back to 7.4)...
Hey all,
As you can see by my post count, I'm new here. I have a background of fairly high-level training in the past, as an adjunct to other sports (mostly rowing and rugby), but it's been a long time since I've lifted weight seriously. I thought it was about time to re-start.
As I've just...

Ah thanks, this is what I'd found. I just wasn't sure that was deliberate and wanted to let you know in case it was a bug, but if the AUSBB code deliberately allows for a greater discount (by putting items in cart individually rather than using package deal) then that's fine, as that's what I...
Hi Aimee,
I think you've misunderstood - the DIY package section did NOT discount everything compared to when I put individual items in the cart and then applied the AUSBB discount. The package option only discounted the rack, but not the rest.
I wanted to let you know about the discrepancy...
Hey Aimee,
Not sure if this matters, but your website seems to have a little bug. Currently, you can put together a DIY Package, but it seems only the power rack attracts the 10% discount. The rest of the package is un-discounted.
Putting each item in the cart separately and then using the...
Hate to be that guy, but I think Gym Direct has cut prices since you bought this, as the total cost on their website at the moment is $1593 + shipping...with the 10% ausbb discount it's close to $1.4k...that's using the links you supplied to the gear.
Only because I'm currently in the market...
I'm not sure if anyone here is interested, but as an actual doctor I thought I could add at least a bit of perspective.
Testosterone levels wildly fluctuate throughout the day - one of the reasons most guidelines for testing will not accept a 'low' result unless it is repeated and reproducible...
Two main options, though others are possible:
1) carpal tunnel issues in your left wrist. Unless you're left handed, it would be unusual to affect the left more than right hand.
2) ulnar nerve entrapment as it wraps around your elbow, exacerbated by elbow flexion and possibly worse on the...
