all those old fat faggots like rippetoe who have been coaching for decades don't have a fucking clue what they are talking about, making up your own split is what everyone should do to really get the most out of your training.
your brain knows what your body needs, just start writing random exercises down with random rep ranges that "seem good." it'll work out for sure.
