Just joined a new gym, it has a few olympic 7ft 20kg bars, but it has a lot of 6ft ones as well, they have noticeably shorter collars, I was just wondering what they weigh? Is it 15kg? I can't tell.

Thanks guys.

probably between 15 and 18 kilos mate. do you recall the brand name on the end caps? you could always google them, or just go onto Aussie barbell co, they have specs for the collar length and bar weight, itll give you a great idea of what those ones weigh :)

if they have scales weigh yourself .. then weight yourself holding one.

I found anywhere from 14.4-21kg at granville FF i took a texter the next day and marked all the 20kg ones for future use :p

I thought of the scale idea but sadly the scales are in the toilets on the ther side of the complex, I'm pretty sure it's an ABC bar, 15kg feels right but I wasn't certain, I asked a few people there and all were clueless!

I'll try the net, thanks again.

ABC sell 15kg BB.

They are 15kg big fella.

I just got a ladies Olympic lifting bar for my girls, $510 lol. It has needle bearings and is 27mm diameter.

It turns out the bar is 6ft4" and 18kg according to the ABC website, I did chest last night and couldn't understand why I was managing so few reps lol, turns out I was doing 143kg when I was only just got up to 140kg the other week. I thought I was getting weaker! :)

I have a 6'4" ladies bar, its an official Weightlifting bar, ie 27mm grip. Its 15kg.

The 6'4" one your using must be 28mm, hence the extra weight.

Not sure on the diameter, it could be 28mm. All I know for sure is it's an ABC bar and it's 6ft4" and according to the ABC website all their bars that size are 18kg.
