Best Creatine Brand

Just finished my first tub of creatine mono and didn't get any benefit out of it. It was Balance brand (Balance Technology I think it's called). $32 for 500gms.

What's the best brand creatine out there, any recommendations? I'm not necessarily looking for the cheapest, just the most effective. Something that will help increase muscle size.

i've used cheap mono before and didn't feel the effects. then i tried max cre8 and i felt the effects. its a little expensive but you dont use much and i've been using mine for at least 6 months, still have some left. it may seem like overkill but it worked for me.

i think they have changed the product a bit since i last bought it and added beta alanine and AAKG which i now take with cre8. give it a look.

if its a preworkout energy you are after you can try 1MR from BPI Sports
or MRI Black Powder these 2 products are getting great reviews

My best mate swears by Anabolic Switch.

I'm on my first tub of creatine though which is Bronx Wild Bull Mono

I used GNC Mono originally, strength wise I can't say if it made a difference, although I did add a bit of water weight, after that I bought some Mono from PureSuppPowders off here and within 2-3 days of using it I lost 2-3kg of water, so, I stopped taking it all together.

I guess that means I'm a non responder to that particular brand or it doesn't work?

I doubt brand makes a difference...

Creaint has a chemical structure and without the same chemical structure it isnt creatine it is something else...

So i dont think brands makes a difference.. It doesnt logially make any sense.. Creatine monohydrate is creatine monohydrate..

Like saying different glucose brands give you better results...

If it is micronised crea mon then it should all be the same shit.

I agree with noobs.

You want the purest shit you can, most big expensive brands mix in a ****load of sugar to make it cheaper and then claim its 'extra anabolic' due to the insulin spike.

Nothign beats generic aussie creatine.

How soon are you meant to see any benefit from it? I vaguely recall someone saying it took them a couple of months to get results.

My first tub just lasted a bit over a month and it's hard for me to see any gain from it. Should I just get the same generic brand and go again?

DKD,

If you're expecting creatine to be some wonder supplement that will increase your LBM by 10kg and put a plate on your bench press you've missed the mark sorry bud. It will have effects on lean body composition (1-2kg max) and strength, but the effects are subtle.

If you're feeling gypped from creatine keep this in mind - after protein supplements its pretty much the best stuff you can take. Imagine what those guys buying jACKED for the 'pump' are pissing their money on.

this is where i get mine from. wont burn a hole in the wallet either.

Ah Oli your posts reminds me of one of the guys I work with on my weekend job. He was talking to me about how he feels massive on creatine and how one of his friends has gotten massive off it after only one week. I laugh and then explain how shit really works. His friends brother is also on Vitamin T and has only just started lifting.

What Oliver said.

I notice the effects on bench press only in terms of perceived effort only, and only on 3-5 reps. If you look at the physiology behind it, it will only make a difference to activity where you are relying on ATP-CP energy, ie short power activities, and even then the effect of supplementation is simply to increase your body's natural buffer of CP. If you have a naturally high buffer, you may not notice any effect - many people don't. FWIW The most noticeable difference for me is in the recovery time.

The exotic pre-workout creatine supplements usually feel like they make a difference because they are loaded with sugar, caffeine and other stimulants, such as methylhexanamine (which is not dissimilar to a lot of party drugs in its effects, and is a banned substance under the WADA code).

Exotic and expensive creatine forms, such as CEE etc are far from proven to have any extra benefit over basic creatine monohydrate used in the original studies. Some studies have actually shown they are inferior.

I buy basic pure creatine monohydrate from either Bulk Nutrients/Bioflex or Myopure.

Cheers guys, very helpful feedback. Will stick with the generic stuff but probably buy it from bulk nutrients or the one oli linked. Thanks

You should pm Nick, Kelly, Steve and Nathan, ask them which one theyre taking, theyre the biggest/strongest guys on here, they must be buying this stuff in sacks and shoveling it in their gobs with shovels.

What are you actually looking for it to do. We buy whey protein powder to get protein to our muscles much faster than with solid food, to halt the negative effects of catabolism bought on by lifting heavy weights.

What do you take creatine for?

Phosphorylated creatine provides a number of important functions related to fuel supply in the muscle. The most well known role is as a source of phosphate to regenerate ATP. The creatine phosphate system is the most important fuel source for sprints or bouts of high-intensity exercise lasting up to 10 seconds.

Creatine supplementation has been shown to enhance the performance of exercise involving repeated sprints or bouts of high intensity exercise, separated by short recovery intervals. Therefore, competition or training programs involving intermittent high-intensity work patterns with brief recovery periods (<1 min), or resistance training programs may be enhanced by creatine loading. Performance enhancements may be seen as a result of an acute loading protocol, but chronic creatine use to promote superior training adaptations may offer the greatest benefits

I think creatine should be used by people when they reach a decent plateu. I dont think a begginer needs creatine... The added strength could be placebo of "oh i have this to make me strogner im stronger"... But we dont know... We know how it works and like i said for begginers i dont think it will make a difference...

For a begginer from what i have read generally it is the neruological side of it that is not up to the task the muscles are not yet but you are sitll building neurons and adapting to exercise... A person with experience has built the neruons and is lifting properly they're muscles are now holding them back more so then their neurlogical connections..

But hey if its 30 bucks a kg and its going to "make you keep on track" with training because your in a routine go for it.

i used almost all of them, its all same for me, however ithink weider and cellmass is alittle better than others

From what I've read it increases muscle size (only as long as you keep using it) and lifting capacity, so they were the aims. Noobs point is interesting though, about relative benefits for a beginner.
