this is quite interesting , would take care of the transportation problems that many face
Springtime's Bike Dispenser is a vending machine that allows you to rent a bike that is tagged RFID-trackers, allowing you to ride from one stand to your destination then drop it off at another stand, and then walk away

The Dutch company won an award at the 2007 Spark Design & Architecture Awards for their idea, which works perfectly for an urban environment
 
that bike vending machine would need to have some sort of gps tracker on the bikes otherwise a tonne of them would go missing , or atleast some sort of deposit
