“In 2014, CrossFit will expand out-of-competition (unannounced) drug testing. This means that any registered CrossFit competitor can be tested at any time during the year for any reason.” -games.crossfit.com
In 2014, as in previous years, all tests will be conducted by WADA staff in accredited facilities.'
Even at IOC level the tests get beaten all the time, the tests are basic and can only pick up known drugs, lots more money in illicit chemistry than there is in licit chemistry.
Not really wanting to discuss it, but knowing the chemistry behind the tests is not that hard, and a good chemist should be able to work out ways around it.
Assuming they use HPLC-MS, which cannot pick up identify previously unknown compounds, they don't have the funding to investigate EVERY compound it picks up, just the ones they are testing for or are in their database.
Sure, it's hard, and getting harder, but there ARE ways to beat it, just depends on how much you want to pay and how big of a risk you are willing to take. Did Lance Armstrong test positive once?
