Derek Poundstone 700lbs Squat Fail and Injury

This was his 3rd attempt, he had smoked his previous 2 lifts (I believe 625 and 675). Think it was a quad injury, but hopefully nothing serious as he's always been someone I've enjoyed following (not to mention he has a kick ass gym). After the camera shut off he got up with some help and made it backstage, but that was the end of his day.

It happened just as his line of power was compromised, by bringing his knee in, as he was simultaneously applying full force upward.

What, how strong is that spotter behind him? I am in awe how he can hold that weight zercher style..

Hope noobs don't watch this then freak out and start using bitch pads, knee wraps and other shit for BW squats lol

Painful to watch given I've been through a similar situation, but it's great to see those safety straps doing their job. That could've been a whole lot worse.
