The hours are not the problem.
Your training needs to be progressing as in getting stronger over a long period of time.
You have only been back training science January. Its a few months. You need to stick at this for years.
With diet. Count calories and macros to see where you are at then go from there.
From what I've worked out, calories are around about 2400-2500 on a daily basis, unsure of macros though. I've never really sat down and worked them out. If I'm trying to lose body fat and gain lean muscle should I be aiming for pretty similar to what I would burn in a day or less or am I thinking too much into it? After wearing a heart rate monitor for a day at work I burnt 2600 calories on a bigger than average day - not including my workout or outside work hours
The only reason I was worried about the hours I work is am I getting the adequate rest my body would need to repair. Eg- Training upper body in the morning and feeling pretty fatigued after a workout then going to work and having to lift all day while fatigued and basically struggling like a bitch but having to dig deep to get the job done.
I've always been a morning person and never really needed a lot of sleep to function. Any more than 7 and I've overslept. 5 is the usual amount I get. My roster is usually two weeks of dayshift, switch to nights for two weeks then two weeks off at home.
Will chuck up my diet over the next couple of days, I get to darwin wednesday arv and don't fly out until 1am Thursday morn. Airport hangs give me spare timeThrow up the diet dude.
What were/are you doing in Mining?Did 4/2 when I started years ago. 8/6 (days, not weeks) now, love it!
Haha certainly is. Usual roster for me is 2 weeks dayshift, 24hr shift change then 2 weeks nightshift. Its not uncommon to do 4 weeks of nights though.. Thats when your diet/food intake gets really fucked up.2 weeks of nightshift, is that solid?
:SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
The only rule I ever tried to set and keep for myself was to never set an alarm with a 2 at the front. But I broke it a few times when I had to start earlier. Those days suckedBloody hell, if I tried going 5am from full on sleep to training hard within the space of an hour or so I think I might have a heart attack!
(non morning person checking in here. Even though I train at mornings, but at a more civilised time at 10am)
