I saw this being promoted on facebook & thought it'd be worth thread'ing here...

Eleiko Olympic WL Childrens Bar

With a weight of only 5 kg the Eleiko Childrens Bar is the perfect bar for safe childrens training at the gym.

The Eleiko Childrens Bar has the exact Olympic dimensions and a non-slip grip for safe training. The grip is a bit more soft than the grip at the Eleiko Technique Bar.

Training with this type of bar increases the childs balance, coordination and movability.

Made of aluminium, 50 mm rotating sleeves.
MAX LOAD: 20 kg.

i took my step son & daughter into the gym on saturday, they both loved it & want to do stuff like I do.

AK has an 8kg bar that's probably 1/50th of the cost

But its much shorter. This bar is longer AND lighter.

This bar is specifically made for kids to get into OL.

The AK bar is made for fat weak women who cant squat and bench and empty 20kg bar.

In fact, I think the AK bar is too short to fit in a rack, although I'm not positive. I know you have one Graeme, does it even fit in a rack?

This bar would be expensive, but every single piece of quality OL gear is expensive. Its only for coaches and weightlifting clubs, not for PT's as its not worth the dough for them.

I have a womens OL bar that weighs 15kg, its only got shorter sleeves, the collars are standard width, fits in a rack, but costs $500

You get what you pay for

Re: getting what you pay for. That you do!
Is your womens one the lightest one you use in the circuits?
And the AK just fits probably with an inch to spare. I also think it's considerably thinner than a normal bar, and doesn't have any knurling in the middle

Definitely get what you pay for. That's for damn certain

I thought you had the AK training bar too? Maybe that is just the womens bar . . .
It fits in the rack, just. I think it's a fraction skinnier and has no knurling in the middle either. The collars are also significantly smaller (length not width)

*edit* major double post. Damn iPhone

I have a rare Hampton bar, 12kg, only 5' long

An ABC ladies OL bar, 6'6" long, 15kg

A ZK OL bar, 7', 20kg

3 x ABC power bars, 7' long, 20kg

2 x GD 7' bars, 20kg

I am getting 2 more bars for my new racks.

I looked at the AK aluminium bar, but I really dont have a use currently. Even Max's 12yo kids clean & press 25kg. In fact, a 13yo deadlifts 115kg x 3.

I really dont want 6yo in the gym lol

Things may change though

The bar is rated to 20kgs for warranty reasons most likely and you could graduated to a men's bar from there on. Just like technique bars Maxing out at 100kgs
