Don't agree for any exercise but by the way it feels when I have done it the leg press is at high risk of hyperextensions or worse when locking the legs.

There are some exercises where extending the limb (into a locked position ) is a requirement
but only when the muscles worked are fully contracted under load.
Yeah, but the position of the feet on the plate would depend on the path of resistance from beginning to end, and the position or angle of the seat (backrest)

Healthy strong joints, for example the leg extension is bad for the knee if you don't fully extend the lower leg, and actually squeeze the quad at full extension.
