I always figured around 20mins was good but I have been reading online people say they train for 40mins to an hour. Im a little confused as i dont really cardio it up much, can anyone give advice?

it all depends on what you want to achive, and how hard you work it.
Short and intense, or longer at an easier pace,
you want to lose weight, up your fitness or train for a marathon???

Shorter, more intense sessions will save you alot of time over longer moderate intensity sessions.

I'd go for short and intense, I'm try to loose a little fat so I jog about 30min on off days. and short intense on exercise days

more intense cardio will affect your recovery . if you are after gaining some mass and strength I would do low intensity 45 min on no workout days.

I want to be able to do 20-30mins stationary bike and 20-30mins eliptical trainer on one of the intense programs that the machines have. So far im at the bottem end with 20mins bike on program 1 (the first and easiest program) and 10mins eliptical trainer on program 1. This is on off days to weights of course. I will just do a 10min warm up and a 10min cool down on weights days.
