How often do you go into the gym and just don't have it?

you rock upto the gym full of motivation , but as soon as you step onto the gym floor you just don't have it , you are dragging your feet
your mindset just isn't there

for me it happens when i am stressed or pissed off ,some find that it helps push them in the gym , but for me it's energy sapping

I've never been motivated when I walk in the door and not had it. If I'm pumped when I walk in, it's always a decent session. It's the times when I can't be fucked before I leave my house that I know it's going to be a waste of time

I won't let myself have a bad session. I'd be too pissed off.

It's very infrequent, but does happen, push through it, limit my sets, up the reps and tell myself it's a "pump" session.

usually it's tiredness - I'm too OCD to not go though. On these days, I find squatting extremely hard mentally.

I find 10 minutes on the elliptical gets the juices flowing and the body temperature up.

Usually the other way around for me - often not really into it, then once I foam roll and do warm up set then I'm into it.

This. Funny how I walk in all tired and unmotivated and end up having a kickass workout, other times when I am confident and fully pumped for my training it ends up being shit.

Yeah, I have great workouts when stressed or pissed off... Most days I'm at work just wanting to get home and hit the gym.
Lately I've had some crap workouts, not really sure why.. Perhaps because a couple of missed sessions and niggling injury/soreness have seen me go backwards a little. I'm feeling intimidated by weights I've lifted before and am getting more worried about injuries.
The worst is that I often get excruciating exertion headaches from squats. If that kicks in I'm ruined for the rest of the session.

sometimes after a full on day at work, I'll pick up the bar at the gym and it feels heavier than 20 kg, then I know I'm in for a struggle session.
